Veronica, Toni, Cheryl and I share a dorm room. Toni and Cheryl sleep in the bunk bed and Veronica and I sleep in a king-sized bed in the middle of the room.
I was writing in my diary when she interrupted me and said “I'm bored. Let's play a game”
I smiled at her
“Sure, what game do you wanna play?” I asked
“Hmm.. How about that game with the little horsies”
“You mean chess?”
“Yeah that's what I said”
“Do you even know how to play?”
“Yes, ofcourse I know how to play...” she looked at me
“Chess” I said
“Chess”
“No way that's cheating” She whined
“No, the knight can move in an L shape” I said, drawing an L on the chess board
She frowned “No, that's a seven” she said, drawing the L upside down.
I shook my head
“Hey guys, can I join?” Toni said walking towards us
“No, only two can play at a time”
“Says who?” Toni asked before moving my bishop
“I don't know, and the bishop moves diagonally”
“Oh” she moved it again “Check mate. I win”
“You can't just capture the King”
“Uh.. I think I just did”
I sighed
“Girls” Cheryl said walking in
Finally, someone with some common sense
“What are we playing?”
“Chess”
“Ooo I'm so good at this game. Move Veronica” she said pushing Veronica out of her chair “Your move Betty”
I moved my Knight
“Uh.. no” she said moving it back
“What? the knight moves in a L shape”
“Yeah but that's a seven”
I rolled my eyes
