Imprisonment

I groan, rolling over in my single bed. I have been trapped in my bedroom for three days now, since my mom told me she didn't want to see my face again.

My right eye is now black and swollen, it hurts so much that I can't sleep anymore. You are supposed to out ice on a black eye instantly, but due to my current circumstances, that wasn't much of an option.

I want to get out of here, I need to get out of here, I swear I am getting claustrophobic from being trapped in the confines of my all too small bedroom.

I could always hop out of my window and take a walk, but I would be facing the risk of my mother catching me, plus the risk of seeing Daxton. Dax, I feel so bad about what I had to do to him. Though I'm sure he would be happy to hear I chose my safety, he would want me to stay safe.

Though, it isn't like I am very safe here either, in fact, I am driving myself insane. I sigh, deciding to take the risk and leave my dungeon. I grab Dax's leather jacket, deciding maybe his scent would protect me from any on coming danger in the forest. I also grab a pair of simple black flats, slipping them on.

I decide last minute to snag a pair of sunglasses, slipping them on to shield my black eye from the night. I pull my window open, wincing as I slide outside and land softly on the ground. I close my eyes, tilting my head up to the sky and taking in a deep breath.

It feels so good to be outside, to be anywhere but that toxic environment again. I glance around quickly before locating the small pathway into the forest. I smile readding up to the barely visible dirt path, hoping the outcome will be better this time than the last I was here.

The forest was eerily quiet tonight, it seemed like it was consumed in a state depression, condoned to a saddening silence. None of the insects were out, not even the mosquitoes, though I was quite happy about that last part.

Everything seemed quite off tonight, I have no idea why though. I walk further into the forest, trying to keep my balance since my vision on my right side is blurred. I ultimately decide it would be best to sit myself down in a clearing, leaning my back against a fallen log.

I then slip my heavy eyelids shut, taking in the calming atmosphere of the forest. I felt free, for once in my life I wasn't trapped somewhere. I wasn't a prisoner, I was the queen of the night.

I hear a rustle in the bush to my left, and I can't help but whip my head in that direction, holding on to it at as my days with out food suddenly become more apparent to me. A wolf with blond fur emerges in front of me, his brown eyes peering at me intently.

"Uh, h-hi." I whisper, moving myself away from the wolf carefully. Normal wolves don't live in these woods, there was no doubt in my mind that this one was part of Daxton's pack.

The wolf cocks his head to the side, his gaze on me hard as he sits on the forest floor. He wants answers from me, answers that I don't really care to explain yet.

The wolf walks up to me, nudging my cheek with his nose. I hiss, squeezing my eyes shut. This causes him to look at me again, his eyes confused. "Austyn?" I ask, causing the all too familliar brown eyed wolf to nod sadly as he looks at me.

"I didn't mean to do anything. I-I promise I didn't want to hurt him." I whisper, causing him to nod. "I-is he okay?" I ask. Austyn lowers his head whimpering. He then shoots me an inquisitive look, motioning to my sunglasses.

"It's really bright." I defend quickly, adjusting the glasses. He rolls his eyes, barking at me. "I-I'm fine Austyn." I insist, backing away from him. He barks again, looking at me worriedly. "O-okay fine." I sigh, taking off my rather large glasses and looking at him. I also slip off Daxon's jacket, showing him the marks from the glass shatter.
