When Light asked to speak with (Y/N) alone, she wasn't sure what he wanted, but she had a pretty good idea of it nevertheless. The two were currently sitting face to face in her room, both of them mirroring the other by crossing their arms and their legs while they just stared at one another. It would be an amusing scene to any who knew of their friendship, but if they knew of the topic brimming fresh in their minds, they would find it anything but.

"So..." Light began with a small sigh as he closed his eyes. "Do you believe him? Ryuzaki, I mean?"

"About what?"

"About my killing Rin."

"I don't believe Ryuzaki when he says you're Kira, so I don't believe him when he says that you killed Rin," (Y/N) hummed as she lifted her chin, her (E/C) eyes boring into Light's own. "The thought that you would think that I, your friend, would believe you were a murderer is a bit insulting, Light. I know your character, and I know that your moral compass is as rigid as your desire for justice. To think that you would kill someone when knowing all of that about you... it would make me a shitty friend, right?"

I want to believe Light didn't kill Rin.

I want to believe that since he has no memories of his time as Kira—as a murderer.

It can't be him...

It can't be...

But...

(Y/N) slid her gaze to the side, knowing that because she knew of Light's ruthless and bloodthirsty manner as Kira, she couldn't rule him out as a suspect. Even if he had lost his memories, there was still that familiar yet unconscious tug that made him question many things.

"Are we even that?" Light continued, snapping her from her thoughts and making her meet his gaze again. "Do you believe we're friends?"

"Of course I do."

"Is that the only way you think of me?"

(Y/N) blinked.

She was puzzled as to why he was questioning her on their friendship when it was obvious that time and time again she stood beside him when he was accused of being Kira by L. She would have thought it was obvious by then, but then again, she wondered if he was hinting at what had been between them the moment they began becoming closer.

"What do you mean?" She instead questioned as she brushed imaginary dust off of her pants and re-crossed her legs, pretending as if she had no clue as to what he was talking about.

"I'm sure you already know what I mean."

"Enlighten me," she smiled. "Or is it that you have something to tell me?"

Light's eyes narrowed.

He could practically see the gears turning in (Y/N)'s head—see how she wished to test how far she could push him. He remembered thinking that exact same thing whenever he was around her at first. Sometimes, he wondered if she could actually peer through him and see his thoughts. She never gave off the aura that she cared what others thought, as if it wasn't worth her time. But it seemed different when it came to him—as if there was something about him that made her pay attention.

He found himself liking that.

Craving it, in fact.

He started to desire his time with her, and then her entirely.

He couldn't let her go.

Not to L.

Not to anyone else.

"Yes, there is, actually," Light finally sighed as he stood up from his spot across from her to approach where she was sitting on her bed, his gaze almost primal at that point as he rooted her to the spot. "Something I've been meaning to tell you for quite some time now..."

He placed both hands on either side of her, caging her in place as he stared into her eyes.

"Well? What is it?" (Y/N) asked as she tilted her head, not seeming to care about the compromising position that they were currently in. "Is it still about L accusing you? Or... is it something else entirely?"

Her lips curved into a smile.

Light's fingers twitched.

She was teasing him—blatantly so.

"You act as if you know what I'm about to say," Light murmured, his eyes dropping from her eyes to her lips and then back up in quick succession, his expression completely serious as he leaned even closer to her until their noses were but inches apart. "Why does that always seem to be the case with you, (Y/N)? What is it... about you?"

"I wouldn't know. You haven't explained anything yet," she whispered softly into his ear.

That was his breaking point.

Grabbing her wrists and pinning her arms above her head as he forced her down on the bed, Light crawled on top of her, breathing heavily, his face flushed. It was obvious to anyone that he was aroused, forced into that state by (Y/N)—from her hypnotizing (E/C) eyes to the vixen smile of hers, everything drew him in.

She didn't struggle in his hold.

All she did was stare up at him, smirking.

Once again, Light felt as if she had already known that this was going to happen.

Without a second thought, he pressed his lips to hers. And even though he didn't expect it, she kissed him back, even allowing him to slip his tongue inside of her mouth to heat up the kiss. His free hand roamed her body, gliding up and down her waist and hips before then dripping down to her thighs, his fingertips dancing in between her legs and making her shiver in pleasure from the contact.

He knew what he was doing.

Unlike L who was a bit of a beginner in that aspect, Light knew exactly which spots to touch and how much he should abuse them. But before they could go any further, the door slid open, and there in the opening, stood L.

His eyes darkened.

    His eyes darkened
