So a large wildfire started up in my home town two days ago, Wednesday July 24 at 2:55 pm, while I was on a trip alone. A man was driving recklessly on a small gravel road up by a local swimming hole. He was most likely drunk and swerving wildly. Eventually he crashed down into some nearby brush and the car caught fire while he was trying to rev the engine to get out. There was at least 4 witnesses to my knowledge, including a family with a 2 year old. Seeing that the car was on fire the man calmly got out of the car and walked away down the road. The family dialed 911 but by the time the firefighters got there and got everyone out, the fire had spread hugely.
The Park Fire is currently 239,152 acres and slowly moving away from my town. The evacuation zones are huge, and everywhere else got red flag warnings. I'm obviously terrified, because so many people already had to evacuate and others lost there homes. It's currently the largest fire we've had in our county and you can see the plumes of smoke from miles away.
I just wanted to bring this to peoples attention and asking for prayers and good wishes for everyone involved in this terrible disaster.
