life had taken a turn and y/n wouldn't say it was for the worst.

her and okkostu had gotten closer, practically calling every night and sometimes they'd hang out outside of school. she wasn't oblivious to the amount of teasing she got though especially from nobara.

nobara however was the person she was closest too afterall she had been the one to welcome her so quickly since she was drawn to the idea of having another girlfriend to go shopping with and have girl talks with besides maki.

after thinking it over for the longest time y/n had finally managed to make a decision on what club to pick. she had joined the reading club since that was what interested her the most.

plus fushiguro wasn't the worst to talk to he was relatively quiet but was fun to hang out with. and once y/n had joined okkostu had suddenly decided he would be joining too.

it was made obvious by the way fushiguro made heavy annoyed glances at okkostu that made it clear he very much did not like him.

but okkostu was just as sweet as ever and coincidentally he had the exact same classes as y/n meaning everywhere she was he was. but she was starting to gain a crush that much was clear. there was just something about him that made him so captivating.

this had turned out for the absolute worst. not for you but for maki.

it was announced early in the morning on the news that zenin mai had been murdered and her boyfriend who she apparently also was with despite having that whole teacher student relationship was currently missing but remained as the top suspect.

you could actually more than imagine what maki must be feeling right now. but the thought of a murderer in the same town you had just moved to had made your head spin and your hands shake.

you had gotten an email seeing as school would be canceled for today and for a week, you assumed it's because people would be rather shaken up.

but god knows what maki was feeling right now as much as you wanted to deny it, maki was probably one of the suspects seeing as though they were sisters and all and lived together. but you didn't exactly know what happened last night and where she was or who she was with.

and her boyfriend as you now knew from the news as noritoshi was missing so it made sense he was a prime suspect in the murder. but after years and years of the murders that happened in this town you would think that this would probably be
connected to back then.

but that could've just been the conspiracist within you. one thing was for certain though that the podcast chick rika would definitely be on this case in an instant considering the fact she was so into talking about the past tragedies of this place and other true crime stuff.

quickly thinking over what you could say to maki you picked up your phone texting her that you would be there for her if she needed you and you understand how she feels and sending the text you let out a shaken sigh.

"moved here to get away from this shit and yet here we are again..." throwing yourself on your bed you deny your mind of it's want to unveil the trauma that was trying to climb its way out.

it was another notification from your phone but this time it was odd because it was an unknown number.

looks like the first ones down how convenient it is that schools canceled. don't you think so y/n?

looking at the text you couldn't ignore the goosebumps that littered your arms causing you to briefly shiver. your thoughts had ran wild not knowing what this text meant, was it a joke?

"looks like the first ones down? " you questioned out loud to yourself nervously laughing as to not think so much of it as you pushed the blocked button.

you definitely did not want to deal with that. the day was already going to be stressful enough knowing that when your mom came home she would be shaken up to her core about the whole murder thing.

she would probably be the one witnessing mai's body and examining it. who knows what maki must've felt, yeah you had a pretty good idea about what was probably going through her head but everyone's relationship was different.

most of the time it was like mai and maki couldn't stand eachother. nobara had mentioned how maki would sleepover at her house most of the time it was like maki's second home with the way she had her own drawers and hair products in nobara's room and bathroom.

you had only figured out such thing when nobara invited you over and had talked about how maki would most likely come over that night and that's how the conversation began. but it gave you some peace of mind knowing that the one person that maki would let be there for her would always be nobara.

you saw how close they were and you and everyone else would be an idiot if they didn't see the clear romance happening between them. it was nice to see the polaroids of pictures together in nobara's room and the way you could see how they held eachothers hands underneath the lunch table during school knowing them they probably hoped they were being discreet. but their eyes could never hide it.

but either way the mysterious text still lingered in the back of your mind even as you tried to push it away thinking about what you would even say to maki when you saw her at school or if she answered your text.

running a hand through your hair you sighed as you heard now two notifications on your phone as you lazily lifted your phone back up to look at who texted you it had flipped your mood around almost instantly.

one had been from your mom saying she wouldn't be home until very late tonight since work and when that had brought a frown to your face at the thought of being alone your eyes had scanned your phone further down seeing it had been okkostu who had texted you as well.

the simple question that he asked of wanting to hang out was enough to make your tummy do twists and turns as you replied quickly saying yes.

since your mom wasn't home tonight she wouldn't know of a boy being in the house it made it the perfect plan. okkostu would be coming over...
