【12】Their Banter

Shirina's Pov :

I was winding up the things from my desk as it was time for me to leave. The meeting in the morning went without any issue and ended on a good note with S.I. getting the contact. And, I felt relieved. Finally. I can't imagine what would have happened if that stranger.. Aayansh, had not helped me out of the problem, I invited for myself.

That reminds me that I didn't even ask him of his department or position in this office, I didn't see him here before. Never mind, I will ask him next time, if we meet. The good part of the day was that Fireball was happy, not like his happiness has anything to do with me, but the day went smoothly with lesser tantrums and orders from his side. Lesser scoldings also, A voice in my head added.

Stuffing the laptop in my bag, I stood up making my way to the elevator when I felt someone's presence behind me. Moving aside, I tilted my head to look at the intruder and it was none other than my boss, who I am sure was aware of my glance but still chose to keep himself engrossed in his mobile with that poker face. I already said I have no doubt on his rudeness.

Then, what do you expect from him? To look at you and do khi-khi-khi (giggle)?

It was the same voice in my head, and I turned back rubbing my forehead, annoyed. Something has really gone wrong with me in these days. I have started to talk with myself in my mind. It is either the result of my loneliness or this man is making me mad. I will go with the latter option because first has never been an issue. That's a habit.

As the door opened, I stepped inside and he followed me, stuffing his mobile in the pocket of his blazer. Wait..why is he not going in his private elevator?

"I think you entered here mistakenly, Sir. You had to go to next elevator. "

It slipped from my mouth before I could rethink. He had to acknowledge my presence at this. Wow, I am getting used to making things awkward between us. Stupid me. Why do I lose my thinking powers around him out of all? It is his office and I am being a google map to him.

"I don't think your job included giving me instructions about what to do and where to go. Or, did it?" With his tone mocking me, he glared at me and looked to the other side.

"I didn't mean that way. I-" I scrunched my nose, stopping in mid, when I was about to add I am sorry.

What has gotten into me? It was not my fault though. First of all, he is always so intimidating and secondly, he has made me habitual of uttering useless apologies for every other thing. Now, I am sure that he is making me mad.

"Tomorrow, I have to go for another sight check in the morning and you will be accompanying me. Make sure to reach on time." He told me, not adding anything about the previous conversation and I am glad for that. Continue Shirina, tell him what you want to, I encouraged myself to talk to him normally.
