Mingyu pushes open the door to the dimly lit hotel room, the scent of cigar smoke and expensive cologne curling into the hallway. "Y/n..." he calls, stepping inside and locking the door with a sharp click. His eyes find her instantly. "You look stunning."

He walks toward her, gaze sweeping over her, voice low and rough. "I've been counting down the hours. My wife thinks I'm out closing a business deal, but the only thing I want to close in on tonight... is you."

Y/n sits on the edge of the bed in a cherry red dress, the slit revealing her leg. She sighs. "Hey..."

Mingyu smirks, stopping inches from her. His chest rises slowly, breathing her in. "'Hey' doesn't cut it. Come on—what's been going through that sharp little mind all day? Tell me something wild."

She shrugs. "Went on a blind date."

He arches a brow, intrigued. "A blind date?" He sits at the foot of the bed, turning to face her. "Who was the lucky guy? What did he do to win you over?"

Y/n smirks faintly. "He was arrogant. Didn't want to pay. Glued to his phone. But... good-looking."

Mingyu chuckles. "Good-looking, huh? I'll take that as a challenge."
He lifts her chin gently. "Let me show you what it means to be with a man who sees you. Not some boy too busy with his phone to notice the you in front of him."

She brushes his hand away. "I'm not in the mood tonight."

He studies her, then runs his thumb along her lower lip. "That's okay. I don't mind when you push back. Makes it more fun. But you know I'll keep coming back. I always do. Because when it's just us like this... nothing else exists. This—" he gestures between them, "—is the only thing that feels real."

Y/n shifts the subject, toying with her dress. "How's your wife?"

Mingyu lets out a low laugh. "My wife?" He shrugs, rolling his shoulders. "Still lost in her perfect fantasy. Still believes we have some fairytale marriage." His voice turns colder. "But while she clings to that illusion, I'm here with you. Living something far more real."

Y/n stares at him. "Are you still sleeping with her? I heard you're planning for a kid."

The air shifts. Mingyu's jaw ticks, but he stays composed. "So you've been keeping tabs on me?"

"She's been bragging about it on Instagram. Didn't have to dig," Y/n says coolly, her smile mocking. "Well? Are you?"

Mingyu leans in, his tone dark. "Yes. I slept with her. Had to keep up appearances. And the kid..." He pauses. "It's part of the show. Something she wants. Something I can't say no to without raising alarms. But that doesn't mean I've chosen her. You know who I come back to. Always."

Y/n scoffs. "Then go fuck her. Don't come to me."

His expression hardens. "You really want to play it like that?" He stands and heads for the door. "Fine. Maybe I will go home. Maybe I'll fuck her and pretend she's you. But it won't fix this ache. It won't change who I really want." He pulls the door open. "And when I come back—and I will—I expect you to be ready."

He leaves. Minutes later, so does she. The room stays empty all night.

A week passes.

"So... is she pregnant yet?" Y/n murmurs, lying in bed, Mingyu spooning her, their bare bodies tangled under a beige duvet.

He tightens his grip around her waist, mouth hot against the back of her neck. "Not yet. But soon. And when that happens, getting out won't be easy. Still... I'll find a way."

"Then don't get her pregnant," Y/n snaps, voice tight with jealousy.

Mingyu hums. "If only it were that simple. She's determined. But I've been thinking—maybe we create our own chaos. Our own little secret."

Y/n glances at him. "Our kid? You think I can raise it alone?"

He grins. "No, sweetheart. Not alone. I'm talking about us. A real family, hidden away from the world. Our rules. Our mess."

She sighs. "My parents are already lining up marriage proposals. I don't think I can keep stalling them."

His jaw tightens. "Marry someone? Over my dead body. You're mine, Y/n. I won't let anyone take you away."

"You have a whole family, Mingyu," she snaps. "You can't even promise me forever. How am I supposed to keep waiting while you play house with your wife?"

"You think I'd ever choose them over you?" he growls. "I'd burn it all down before I let them win. You're the only thing that makes sense in my world."

Y/n pushes him off and pulls the duvet over her chest. "No. You'll leave when it gets hard. You always do. We're not permanent, Mingyu. We never were."

He sits up, shaken. "Don't say that—"

"No. I will," she cuts him off. "Because it's the truth."

He breathes out, defeated. "I've thought about leaving her for months. I mean it, Y/n. I've wanted to walk away from all of it—for you."

She glares. "But you won't. You never will. Your family would disown you. Your reputation? Ruined. You'd rather keep living your lie than fight for me."

"That's not true—"

"Then why didn't you ever tell them about me?" she shouts. "Was I too dirty? Too poor? Just a dirty little secret to keep in a hotel room?"

His face twists in pain and fury. "Shut up, Y/n. Don't say that." He drags a hand through his hair. "You're right. I didn't fight hard enough. And I hate myself for it."

Y/n sniffles, voice breaking. "I wanted to marry you. My parents said yes. I was ready. So why?"

He pulls her into a tight hug, voice thick. "I'm sorry. I was a coward. I thought I was protecting you. But I just hurt you instead."

She shoves him off and grabs her shirt. "I'm done. I'll say yes to the next proposal. I want a real future."

"No," Mingyu says, panic creeping into his voice. "Don't marry someone out of spite. Don't settle. You deserve more."

She meets his eyes, cold. "I already found someone I love."

His world crashes.

"What?" he whispers. "You love someone else?"

She doesn't answer, just starts getting dressed.

He lets out a bitter laugh. "Of course. I was just a detour. A mistake you regret."

He dresses quietly and heads to the door.

Y/n turns away, not wanting to see his face as he leaves. The second the door closes behind him, she breaks down in sobs.

Outside, Mingyu leans against the wall, eyes shut, listening to the sound of the woman he loves fall apart...knowing he's the reason.

Surprise surprise!
This was a very random and sudden idea to write this but i was planning everything for the past 2 weeks, it was soo hard to keep this a secret. Ifs the story gets confusing but I'll try my best to explain if it does, just ask me anything, im always available.

Also this book is to celebrate me achieving 55 followers (yes, it's a huge achievement for me) and my other two books crossing 70k+ and 5k+ reads! Just wanted to thank you all with a new book as a gift. Thank you so much

And i wanted to make a oneshot of this at first but i was bored and i thought turning this into a book would be fun (it wasn't, i had a hard time making the cover and the tags won't get saved, so i had to redo it several times)
I hope i stay consistent with this impulse decision of mine
