The ship passed through the tough waves of the arctic ocean, the freezing temperatures creating frost around the corners of the windows closed for obvious reasons. The saloon was packed with resources and equipment, all together with an eating table on the right side of that space.
The majority of the crew was stationned in the saloon, talking while wearing their warm clothes and jackets, hands in pockets. The doctor was in the surgery fixing her equipment around the room to settle in. When she'd finish, she returned to the saloon, an excited look on her face, her short blonde hair gathered up in her blue bonnet, her neck wrapped with a warm dark blue scarf, her blue jacket and her warm black pants matched up with the clothes. She walked down the stairs, her light blue eyes sparkling as she'd look at the wonderful and comforting environment, filled with beautiful white furniture. She opened the wooden saloon door, eagerly as light came from the saloon, her eyes adjusting to the new surroundings. Her eyes danced around the room looking at the crew as they were talking. Barley walked up to her, "Like the ship?", he asked with a soft smile, his forehead forming wrinkles squishing down with his eyebrows, "Yes! I thought it'd be less decorated, but now that it is, I like the theme, it's quite welcoming", she answered, returning his smile. "I'm glad you like it! I'm quite happy about what the ship looks like", he commented energetically. They kept talking until the capitain of the ship announced that they would reach their destination soon...
The ship stopped at the port, the icy waters crashed against the black hull of the ship. The crew left with their supplies in their massive backpacks. They said their goodbyes to the capitain, then started on their way to the research base.
As they walked half way through the path, they looked at the breathtaking snowy mountains towering over them, the sun taking over those gigantic geographic accidents, "Wow...", John added, flabbergasted by those transcendental yet hostile views. When they arrived they investigated the area looking for rooms to place their affairs. Moments later the base was filled with resources, researching materials, supplies, everything they needed for travelling in those heavy areas. Everyone settled in perfectly. Barley walked into the main room where the others had gathered and cleared his throat, "Everyone, we are finally here! We will celebrate it, and tomorrow we shall start what we have been waiting for this whole time, to search for traces of the antique civilization captured in space time under the ice!" All of the investigators cheered after he'd finished, then they started to celebrate, drinks in hands, the snacks were aligned on a long metal table, the music filled the air, making a happy ambience, all of them danced together to the music. As the party finished they all went to their sleeping quarters for a good night's rest.
