I sit in the front room of my house with my hands clasped together on my knee. I swing my legs under the table as I look out of the window waiting for Lewis to turn up at my doorstep. I haven't lived in Cromer long and already I've got a date. I don't want to go out with lewis but my mum thinks I need to get out more. So that's why I agreed to go to the theatre with Lewis. We are going to see a play, which I don't know the name of. He's supposed to be picking me up at 7:30. It's 7:25. I'm nervous and I can hear the clock ticking by my side. I hear the doorbell ring. It makes me jump and I hear my mum bustling to get to the door before I do. I hear her greet Lewis and she invites him inside.
A moment later my mum walks into the room closely followed by Lewis. I can't lie, he is very good looking and he always wears nice clothes, but he's just not my type.
"Hi" he says lifting his hand to wave before quickly putting it back down.
"Hey" I say standing up and collecting my purse from the table.
"Are you ready to go?" He asked politely and I see a smile spread across my mums face.
"Sure. Is it cold out?"
"No" he replies "so I don't think you will need a jacket. Doors open at quarter to eight" he looks at the clock as he says this, a polite way of telling me to hurry up. My mum pushes me through the door and out into the street. She shouts after us to have fun and to let her know if I go anywhere other than the theatre.

A few minutes later and I am staring at the sea, walking along the promenade on the cliffs. The sky is already dark because it's January. I think Lewis lied about the whole not being cold, because it's freezing. I start dithering just as we reach the pier. We walk along the pier near to the edge and look over at the water crashing below us. I love the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks.
"Here we are" Lewis points to the entrance to the theatre. He points for me to go through the door.

In the interval I finally manage to slip away. I use the headache card. Not only is it the worst play I have ever seen in all of my life, but then on top Lewis has made a move like four times and I've dodged it each time. I am currently stood at the back of the theatre in the dark so that if Lewis comes looking he won't find me. I try to ring my mum to tell her to pick me up, but there is no signal. No matter what network you are on, you never get signal on the pier. I hear a door close close by, and I lean against the wall out of site. Someone wearing a hoodie walks past constantly looking over his shoulder, as if they were expecting someone to follow them. I don't see his face but he looks shifty. I wait until he has gone around the corner and I tiptoe in the direction that the went in. I look around the corner so that I can see the whole of the pier. I can't see the man in the hoodie anywhere. I turn back around to walk back to the end of the pier, when I hear a faint scream. I gasp and turn back to the view of the pier. I can see two figures stood near the edge. Well one of them is stood the other is lay on the ground next to the man in the hoodie. I can see a dark patch on the boards next to the lifeless body. I scream and the killer runs in the other direction. I run to the other end of the pier and dial 999 as quickly as possible.
