"Your arms are too stiff. If you defend like that, it leaves you wide open to multiple counterattacks," I explained, as I shifted my body weight to the right and disarmed Annabeth in a swift movement.

Her sword was thrown away, with my blade pointing at her throat.

She sighed, putting her hands up. "Fine, I give up."

I slowly lowered my sword, allowing the golden blade to morph back into its bracelet form.

"You've improved since last time," I commented.

"Gee, thanks." She said sarcastically. "I feel so honored,"

"You don't look very honored."

"Well, what can I say," Annabeth replied in a monotone, trying to do a horrible impression of me, "I guess I'm just bad at expressing myself properly,"

*Bop*

I hit her lightly on the head, with a chop of my hand.

"Hey!" she protested, "Your hand feels like a block of iron!"

Sigh. "Don't change the subject. You know why you lost, don't you? You're not completely focused. Worried about Luke, I'd presume?"

Annabeth slowly looked away, not meeting my eyes, and let out a weary chuckle.

"It's that obvious, huh......" she muttered, picking up her sword and sheathing it back.

"Well, you've been trying to hide it for days. I can tell it's starting to weigh on you."

"Kind of. I just wish I could've talked to him one more time............" She sighed, lying down on the ground in resignation.

It's been almost 2 weeks since my conversation with Luke that night.

The news of his betrayal spread around the camp like wildfire. Some were shocked, some disappointed, while some straight-up refused to believe the entire thing.

Still, Chiron's testimony was an undeniable proof.

Consequently, Luke is locked in the basement of the big house.

Or at least he WAS...................until 10 days ago.

I vividly remember the morning, 2 days after we apprehended him. Annabeth showed up at my cabin at 3 a.m., banging at the door.

She informed me that Luke escaped his cell and disappeared from the camp, along with his sword. The incident threw the entire camp into a panic.

Search parties were organized to investigate the forests but no traces were found, as if he disappeared in thin air.
