"What is love?" Scoffed Amelia. "Love like in the books," Abbie practically drooled as she span around in a complete daydream. "Love sounds stupid," Amelia said, unamused. "Love is everything," Abbie said with passion as she stared into Amelias eyes, which made her uneasy. "Eh.. I'll pass," said Amelia uncomfortably. "To be honest, it doesn't sound too great," Amelia said and shrugged. Abbie removed her gaze from Amelia's eyes and shifted her gaze to Amelia's shoes. "Did you paint those?" Asked Abbie with curiosity. Amelia nodded. "Took nearly two months," She said casually. Abbie gawped at her shoes. "The detail is amazing," she said with an admiring smile. "You have a talent, Amelia," she said and looked up at her. Amelia felt butterflies in her stomach, and she felt delighted at Abbies words, which gave her confidence. "Thank you," said Amelia with a genuine smile. Abbie was about to say something else, but the school bus pulled up. "See you later!" she called back to Amelia as she skipped over to the bus. Amelia felt a smile prick at either side of her mouth as she watched the bus drive off.
After a few moments, her smile vanished, and she continued walking home. It felt weird walking home alone. Without the comfort of someone else, it made her bag feel heavier and her smile being dragged down into a scowl.
After looking down at the ground, completely zoned out, she looked at her shoes. They were nice. They were very detailed. She did have talent. Amelia smiled again, for no practicaluar reason. Just smiled.Amelia fell with a thud. "Shit-" she mumbled as she nursed her knee and looked up into what she had crashed into. To her surprise, a boy with wispy dark hair and skin like milk chocolate stood, his dark eyes twisted with apologetic worry. "I'm so sorry-" he said, quickly putting a hand out to help her up. Amelia was taken back by how good her looked, but she took his hand and got up. His eyes fell down to her knee, to which blood was now drizzling down in a line.
"I am so sorry-" He said again and dropped to his own knees to get a better look at her knee. "It's fine -" She said in shock to his kindness. Most boys her age would have laughed or walked off.
He used his shirt to wipe the blood, which I had to admit made her giggle. He looked up at her with a smile. "You should watch where you are going next time," he said, his sweet smile never leaving his perfect face. She blushed and looked away, and an awkward smile forced onto her face. "Sorry.." she muttered, which made him chuckle."Don't be sorry, " He said as he got up. "Just be more careful." his smile was perfect as he looked at my shoes. "Nice shoes." His eyes locked with hers, which made her feel butterflies once again. "I'll see you around?" He asked, already walking away. "Uh.. Yeah.." She blurted as she stood as still as a statue as he chuckled and walked away.
