I have never fully embraced the idea of what people call "unconditional love." The notion of loving someone without bounds, regardless of their actions or inactions, or being willing to do anything for the one you cherish, even if it means overlooking the unimaginable, is truly an unsettling thought. To be frank, I never even understood the notion of love itself; it seemed so foreign to me, almost like something out of a fairy tale, like the dragon that breathes fire or the witch that makes potions. It reminded me of the stories my mother used to read to me-it seemed so unrealistic, unattainable... that is, until I met him.
