Josephine "Josie" Voight - AKA Jo. She is 25 years old, a Detective and a Corporal in the Army. Her biological father has been in and out of prison her whole life. Her mother is an addict who has been in and out of Josie's life since she was little. When she was nine Hank Voight picked up her mother on a possession charge with Josie with her and that's the first time she met Hank Voight. When she was 12 her mother was picked up for possession and prostitution and that's when Hank and Camille Voight took her in. They adopted her a year later. When she was 18 she enlisted in the army. She bounced between whatever far off country the army deployed her to and Chicago for years. During Jo's first tour she met Jay and Mouse and became good friends with the both of them. After a three tour she returned to Chicago and followed in Hank's footsteps and joined the force. Soon after joining the force she was detailed to Vice where she was partnered up with Antonio Dawson after being detailed to Vice she was quickly promoted to Detective after only six months on the job. After a year at Vice she re-upped her military contract and was redeployed. After returning to Afghanistan she reunited with Mouse and Jay and they signed up for another three year tour but halfway into their second year a Humvee with Jay, Mouse, Jo, and one of their sergeants in it hit an IED killing their sergeant, Giving Jay a concussion and a few broken ribs, leaving Mouse with a broken arm and a few minor cuts and bruises, and Josie with a broken arm, a concussion, and a few broken ribs. They returned home and we're relieved of their contract. It took Josie three months to recover before she was re-deployed to Afghanistan for another two year tour but Jay and Mouse decided not to re-up. Soon after returning to Afghanistan she was promoted to Corporal. Jo only made it six months into the two year contract before she was captured by the enemy and tortured for 46 hours before she was rescued. She was relieved of her contract and is now returning to Chicago
