"good idea, i'm gonna go try call someone as well. just need to listen to their voice" i tell my best friend as i place my hand on the door handle
"you calling jason?"
letting a sad smile appear on my lips, i reply "yeah, i really need to hear his voice right now"
"alright well i'll meet you back out here soon" the girls says to me before walking into her telephone box
walking into my telephone box, i murmur to myself "well here goes nothing" i dig through my bag to find my purse, grabbing the few coins i have left over before sliding them into the slot and dialling the number i know off heart
i wait as the phone dials three times before it gets picked up "hello?" the male voice speaks
what the fuck am i meant to say...'hey babe, it's holly. i know i disappeared off the face of the earth for the past few years but i'm actually alive and fine. oh! and so is your sister, i know right shocker!'
"hello?...alright funny joke, don't call this number again" he scoffs before hanging up the phone
pulling the phone away from my ear, i let out a groan "stupid! stupid! stupid!" i say as i hit my forehead with my palm three times
i slam the phone back into the holder before pushing the door to the box open "does she have our money or not?" i question while looking at the blonde girl
watching the girl roll her eyes and stomping away from me, i shout " alison! don't fucking walk away from me!"
stopping in her tracks and yelling back at me, ali responds "no holly! she doesn't have the god damn money!"
letting out a small scoff, i chase after the girl "well— what are we meant to do now ali?"
"we're spending the rest of our money and getting on a bus"
pausing from walking, i question "on a bus? wha— i'm so confused!"
"just hurry up and get a ticket, the bus leaves soon"

𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗧 𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗨𝗦, i thank the bus driver before walking down the isle towards alison
"glad to see you've joined me" the girl smirks as i throw my bag onto the seat besides her
letting out a scoff as i sit down, i reply "yeah right, like i even had a choice"
"i want to go home to rosewood as much as you do hols"
raising my eyebrow, i question "do you really though?"
"of course i do, i miss emily and my family...anyways— i spoke to noel"
staring at my friend in shock, i shriek "noel kahn?!"
shrugging her shoulders, alison says "yeah, he said he can help us"
"seriously? noel's helping us for free? are you sure you haven't pimped me out?"
"god no, he just has a few favours to help me out with"

𝗦𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗢𝗬𝗦 𝗖𝗔𝗥, i say "thank you for helping us noel"
"geez, i just needed to see with my own eyes that you're alive. i mean no one's heard from you since fall of two thousand and nine" he says, turning to look at me with a snarky smile
"god, i didn't die! i just like..ran away"
letting out a chuckle, noel speaks "i mean, we all thought you had a part in alisons 'murder'. who runs away from town the exact day when a girl gets 'murdered'"
"whatever!" i scoff while placing my head against the window
"leave her alone noel!" alison spits as she looks at the boy in disgust
defending himself, noel fires back saying "i'm helping you two aren't i? so don't talk to me like that"
going onto her phone after getting a notification, alison replies "please, we've had a long trip, let's just not argue— what the fuck...how did she find this?"
looking at my bestfriend in confusion, i speak in shock "what's going on? who are you calling?"
"hello?" i hear emily's familiar voice speak
"how did you find me?"
listening to the call, i hear my younger twin sister speak "okay ali, the police know that it's not you"
letting the curiosity get to me, i question "what?"
speaking up for the second time, emily says "buried. they know that it's not alison in there"
"alison? does your mother know?" i hear aria ask
"no. do not speak to my mother, okay? she can't know anything"
"look, we want to help you guys but you need to tell us what happened that night"
leaning over the centre console, i tell our friends "then you need to come to us and you need to hurry" before pushing the big red end call button
speaking up for the first time in a few minutes, noel says "you two really think your friends will show up?"
"of course they will, they want us to go back home"
