Seoul, South Korea

The night was dark, and heavy rain poured relentlessly, accompanied by flashes of strong lightning. In the heart of the city, inside a towering skyscraper, a young man sat alone in his luxurious office, sipping wine. As he took a slow sip, his deep black eyes reflected the storm raging outside.

Seated like a king on his throne, he gazed out through the enormous glass window, observing the storm's ferocity. His face was expressionless, his eyes devoid of any emotion. A strange tune hummed softly from his lips, filling the otherwise silent room.

The quiet was broken when his phone rang. His gaze shifted to the device lying on the polished table. Without haste, he rose from his chair and approached the table, his eyes never leaving the screen. He picked up the phone, bringing it to his ear.

"Hey," he greeted in a voice deeper than the ocean. If anyone else had heard it, they would have been struck with an unshakable chill.

"Hello, boss. Something has gone wrong. We need you urgently," came a hesitant voice from the other end.

"Whatever it is, I can't come. I'm too busy," he replied in a cold, commanding tone before cutting the call abruptly and placing the phone back on the table.

The office was shrouded in darkness, illuminated only by occasional flickers of electricity. Strangely, beyond this room, the company remained as pristine and operational as ever, as if the storm did not exist.

A sudden knock at the door was followed by a man stepping in, wearing a bright smile that faltered as he took in the eerie atmosphere of the office. His eyes scanned the room before landing on the cold, emotionless gaze of the man before him.

"Mr. Kim Taehyung, it's time to go home," the visitor announced, avoiding eye contact.

Taehyung said nothing. Instead, he rose and strode toward the exit. The man, his best friend, Park Jimin, watched in disbelief before trailing behind him like a loyal yet handsome puppy. As they stepped out, employees of KTH Company bowed in respect, but Taehyung walked past them without the slightest acknowledgment.

"Alright, my work is done too, so I'm heading home," Jimin said with a small smile, only to receive no response.

"Okay, you can go, Park Jimin," Taehyung stated in his deep, chilling voice, sending a shiver down Jimin’s spine.

They exited the grand building, Taehyung climbing into a sleek black luxury car. His demeanor made it evident—he preferred solitude.

A beautiful girl ran through the park, her laughter echoing softly. The park was breathtaking, complete with a serene river. She approached the water, scooped it in her hands, and playfully splashed a nearby dog, which happily joined in the game.

Dressed in a flowing white frock, she looked like an angel, her hair dancing with the wind. Just then, heavy raindrops began to fall. She tilted her head back, her emotions mixed—joy for the rain, sadness for the abrupt end to her playtime.

Before she could become completely drenched, a man appeared beside her, shielding her with an umbrella.

"Who told you to come out when it was already forecasted to rain? Lee Y/N, what if you catch a cold?" he scolded in a deep voice.

Instead of replying, Y/N laughed and hugged him tightly. The umbrella slipped from his grasp, and the two became soaked in the downpour.

"Enjoy life a little, Jeon Jungkook," she giggled, looking up at him. Their gazes locked, lost in the moment.

Jungkook sighed. "Come on, enough fun. We need to head home before you get sick," he said softly.

Y/N nodded, and Jungkook retrieved the umbrella, taking her hand as they walked towards their car.

Back home, Y/N’s mother pulled her ear gently. "You got Jungkook wet too! You’re getting too mischievous!"

"Mom, let me go! It hurts! I'm sorry!" Y/N whined dramatically, though everyone knew she was only pretending to cry.

Her mother sighed, releasing her. "Sit down. We need to talk."

Jungkook joined them as Y/N’s father spoke. "Tomorrow, we’re moving to South Korea. Our work here is done."

Y/N's eyes widened in excitement. "Finally! I’ve been waiting for this moment! I’m going to start packing right now!" she cheered.

Her parents smiled at her enthusiasm, but Jungkook remained silent, his expression unreadable.

"Good night, Uncle and Aunty. It's late, and I need to pack too. I’ll pick you all up at 6 AM for the airport," Jungkook said hesitantly before leaving.

As he stepped outside into the rain, a storm raged within him—one that no one else knew about.

Y/N’s POV

I still can’t believe I’m going to South Korea tomorrow. Since childhood, I grew up in the USA, but my parents always told me that South Korea was my homeland. Now, I’m finally going there!

I’ll be seeing my best friend, who moved there a year ago. We kept in touch, but now, I’ll get to see her in person. She didn’t believe me when I told her—I had to convince her I wasn’t joking.

But something is bothering me. Jungkook didn’t seem happy. He’s my boyfriend; we’ve been dating for two years. We plan to marry someday, but not yet. We’ve never even kissed because we promised to wait until after marriage. And I respect him even more for that.

Still, why did he look so uneasy? Will moving to South Korea change everything?

I pushed the thoughts away, letting the sound of rain relax me. Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep.

Jungkook’s POV

I can’t believe it. The past I escaped from is the same past I’m willingly walking back into.

I don’t know what will happen, but I hope everything goes well. If he finds out, I know he won’t stay quiet. He’ll have something planned.

Kim Taehyung. He has become even more powerful, his company now globally recognized. He can take anything from anyone. And that terrifies me.

But I won’t let my princess slip away. No matter what happens, I will protect her.

Pushing aside my fear, I reached for the medicine on my bedside table. Taking a deep breath, I swallowed the pills with a gulp of water and collapsed onto my bed, hoping for a peaceful night’s rest.

Kim Taehyung sat in his dimly lit office, his sharp eyes scanning the laptop screen. Jimin stood beside him, watching carefully.

A slow smirk spread across Taehyung's face. "Oh, Jeon Jungkook is coming to South Korea? How interesting."

"Yes, he'll arrive tomorrow," Jimin confirmed with a smirk of his own.

"This calls for a celebration. A storm is coming—not in the sky, but in someone’s life," Taehyung remarked darkly.

Jimin chuckled. "Shall I make preparations for the party?"

Taehyung scoffed. "Are you an idiot? You actually think we’re having a party?"

Jimin pouted. "You’re the one who said it! I was just making things easy!"

Taehyung ignored him, stepping towards the massive window, watching the rain. His thoughts were a storm of their own, but his face remained impassive.

"Now," he whispered, his lips curling into an ominous smirk,

"the countdown to someone's destruction begins."
