Chapter 14

Finnick Odair POV

Today is Valentines Day, and I have lots of things for Annie and I to do together. I'm just so excited for today because it's going to be so fun, and Annie will love it. But first we have school. I wait for Annie at the stop sign we usually meet at to walk to school together. I wait for a while, and Annie doesn't show up. I decide to call her, but it went straight to voicemail. She never does this. I decided to walk to school. Then, I see Annie with Delly and her gang. And it looks like Annie is crying. I run over to her. I hear Delly saying nasty things about Annie, but I try to hide so they don't see me.

Annie Cresta POV

When I walk outside of my house, I see Delly. "Hey, Redhead. Guess what. I have a boyfriend, and you don't!" She laughs at me. "What do you mean. I have Finnick." I ask, confused. "Oh, you didn't know! Finnick has been cheating on you since you guys got together. I'm his girlfriend, and you're not. Why would he like a redhead like you." I can feel tears welling up in my eyes. I can't help it. I start to cry, and then I hear someone come up and punch Delly in the face. "Ow!" She screams. She runs away with her gang following her. I see who punched her, and it's Finnick. I really don't want to see him right now. He cheated on me. "FINNICK! WHY WOILD YOU CHEAT ON ME WITH DELLY OF ALL PEOPLE. I HATE YOU SO MUCH!" I run away, but Finnick stops me. "Hey Ann. I didn't cheat on you with Delly. I promise. She just wanted you to feel horrible. I heard everything she said to you, and none of it is true. I love you so much, and I would not cheat on you with Delly. You are so much better than her." He hugs me tight and strokes my hair. "I love you, Finn." I say. He kisses me on the forehead, and we walk to school.

Annie Cresta POV

After school, I walk home. I sit down on my bed and read. Then I hear a knock at my bedroom door. "Come in." I shout. Finnick opens the door. "Hi Ann. Put your swimsuit on right now. I'm taking you to the beach." Finnick says. (I'm pretending where they live its warm enough to go to the beach) "Ok." I say, walking into my closet. I grab a Teal colored two-piece, light blue jean shorts, and a white crop top. I go into my bathroom to change, and then I walk out. "Ready to go?" Finnick asks. "Yep." I say. We walk down the stairs and go into my backyard to walk to the beach. I live in a beach house so I can just walk there from my house. When we get there, we set our stuff down, and then I run into the ocean. Finnick follows me, and then when he gets to me, I jump onto his back, and he falls into the water. "Ann! What was that for!" He says, getting up and splashing me. "I just was showing you how much I love you." I say, laughing. "Oh, so it doesn't seem like you love me that much cause you just jumped on me!" He says, holding back a laugh. We continue to splash each other until I get tired and get out of the water. Finnick stays by the water while I walk to my towel. I decide to lay down, and then I fall asleep.

Finnick Odair POV

I wake up and find myself right by Annie. She has a tight grip on me and is shivering. I put a blanket on her and get up. I realize everyone had left the beach, and it's just us. I set up a picnic and get out Annie's gift. I then wake her up.

Annie Cresta POV

"Hey Ann. Time to wake up." I hear someone say. I see Finnick's sea green eyes looking into mine. I sit up and yawn. "Did I really fall asleep?" I ask. "Yep." Finnick says. "Hey Ann, I have a surprise for you. Come with me." He says, holding his hand out for me. He helps me up and goes behind me. He puts his arms around me and covers my eyes. He takes me somewhere and then removes his hands from my eyes. "Wow, Finnick! It's amazing!" He had set up a picnic with my favorite foods. I hugged Finnick, and he kisses me on the forehead. We eat, and then Finnick gives me a gift. It's a necklace with half of a heart with an A on it. Then Finnick reveals a necklace with the other half of the heart with an F on it. I put my necklace together with his, and it fits perfectly. "I love it, Finnick!" He helps put the necklace on me, and I hug him. We walk in the water, and Finnick kisses me. In the moment, every seems to be perfect. I cherish the moment, and then Finnick takes me back to our towels. We lay next to each other and watch the sunset. I yawn, and Finnick sees that. "Are you tires? We can go back." He says. "Yeah." I say. We pack up and walk back to our houses. "Goodnight, Ann." Finnick says and kisses me. "Goodnight, Finn. I love you." I say, hugging him. "Love you too. So so much." He says then walks into his house. I lay down in my bed and fall asleep.
