Background:In the 1990s, China had not yet implemented the reform and opening-up policy. People's material living standards were very poor, and for primary school students, a single pencil or eraser was especially valuable. Additionally, due to the Tiananmen Square incident, many professors who participated in or supported the students were reassigned or demoted.

Term Definitions:

Three Hands: A euphemism for a thief.

Yellow River Hero: A Chinese martial arts movie featuring a protagonist named Yellow River Hero, who is highly skilled in martial arts and represents justice.
