It took all of Dabis might to not reach out to James first.

Every argument they'd ever had always ended with her swallowing her pride and offering an apology. But not this time. She would wait him out, make him realize his faults, and force him to be the one to rebuild the bridge between them.

To distract herself, she threw her energy into preparations for her cousin's wedding.

This was no ordinary wedding because, well- Taeil had money and Akari had dreams. The days leading up to the ceremony were packed with events and gatherings, each more extravagant than the last.

Every invitation she received was a reminder of the high expectations placed upon her. Dressing up for these events was no small task.

While Dabi usually enjoyed looking cute and putting in a bit of effort, the stakes were much higher now. The guest list read like a who's who of the rich and famous- idols, celebrities, and influential figures who would arrive in their most luxurious attire, dripping in designer labels and couture.

As a bridesmaid, she knew she had to mingle with them and look presentable.

She definitely had to get some shopping done but decided to first bring out every article of clothing she owned and see what would be suitable. Each outfit she tried on, each piece of jewelry she considered, had to be perfect.

It was a whole two months of events so that meant a lot of packing.

Akari rented out an Airbnb for all the bridesmaids who were travelling from outside of Seoul, including Dabi. So, she was allowed to bring as much clothes as she needed, having a whole house to her and two other girls.

Her playlist was blaring loudly on her speaker as she went through her options of clothes and occasionally taking a moment to savour a sip of her coffee, its intense bitterness bringing a slight grimace to her lips but also a sense of satisfaction.

She relished the strong, bitter taste, believing that the harshness of the coffee was what gave it its power.

Time seemed to slip away as she immersed herself in the task, the hours passing unnoticed until she had packed nearly her entire closet. Deciding she needed a few more options, she headed over to Gyuris in hopes of borrowing a few of her nice, more lavish fits.

Gyuri was a little fashionista who loved to shop. Her room was a treasure trove of stylish outfits, collected from countless thrifting adventures, spending nights altering them to perfect them.

As Dabi entered Gyuri's room, dragging a large purple suitcase behind her, she was met with a familiar warning. "Remember, I still have a social life, so you can't take everything."
"I won't," she responded, rolling her eyes as she heaved the heavy suitcase onto the bed. "Just a few things."

She approached a rack with delicate blouses and began to sift through them, her fingers trailing over the soft cotton and silk. Gyuri, perched on the edge of her bed, watched her sister with a mix of amusement and curiosity.

"So, what's the occasion? You usually only raid my closet for something big," she teased, a knowing smile tugging at her lips.

Dabi pulled out a particularly elegant blouse, examining its intricate embroidery before responding. "Well other than the wedding, I have an interview in Seoul. It's a pretty big deal, honestly," she admitted. "I want to make a good impression."
