"You're the Doctor."

"Hi?"

The TARDIS rocked harshly again, more glass exploding as the flames grew larger in size.

The Doctor sprung to his feet, with a grace that reminded Penny of a newborn deer, knees wobbling from the sudden movement. He paused to assess himself, gasping as he grabbed his leg, eyes wide with enthusiasm.

"Legs! I've still got legs!" He exclaimed, kissing the top of his knee. "Good."

The emotional whiplash left Penny speechless, just watching as the new man before her continued to evaluate himself. "Arms, hands! Ooh, fingers! Lots of fingers!"

"...Sorry?" She quietly questioned, though she went unheard under the roar of the damaged TARDIS.

"Ears, yes. Eyes too. Nose. I've had worse. Chin...blimey! Hair." His eyes widened as he gripped the longer ends. "I'm a girl!"

"No, no. No? Am I?" He glanced toward Penny, who quietly shook her head. "No. I'm not a girl. And still not ginger."

Abandoning his inspection of his hair, he jittered with the energy of a toddler on a sugar high, unable to sit still. "There's something else. There's something important. I'm...I'm...I'm..."

The TARDIS shook again, forcing Penny to cling to the console or be thrown across the floor.

"Ha! Crashing!" He shouted in realization, laughing as he jumped around the console, dodging the bits of fallen column and nearly crashing into Penny to throw a switch. "Geronimoooo!"

Surprisingly, or perhaps not surprisingly at all, the situation did not de-escailate in the following minutes. In fact it seemed to only get worse.

It was hard to see through the thick, gray smoke pouring from the console, sparks shooting out viciously.

Penny felt the fire and electricity burn her skin , though there wasn't much to be done about it. No place in the TARDIS was exempt from the chaos, the only choice left was to stay aware and hope nothing heavy fell on her head.

She was pretty sure the console had exploded at one point, sending the Doctor flying backward, and though she worried, she was a bit too wrapped up in not trying to die herself to run to his aid.

Considering she could just hear him over the noise of the fire and explosions she'd have to assume he was fine.

The floor tilted up suddenly, sending everything, Penny included, towards the wall.
