Katherine woke up to the sound of machines beeping and the feeling of being so incredibly tired that a part of her didn't even want to open her eyes. But when she did, she realized she was waking up in a dimly lit hospital room, hooked up to all sorts of weird machines monitoring her vitals. When she turned her head to look around, she noticed Harry sitting in a chair by the bed, looking worriedly at the screen of his phone.

"Hi," she croaked, feeling her heart skip a beat at the sight of him. Harry sat up immediately, all his attention on her, his eyes wide as his mouth fell agape.

"Katherine. How are you feeling?" He asked quickly. She smiled weakly at the way her name sounded so breathless falling from his lips, like he'd been worried sick about her.

"Um, tired. What happened? Why am I in the hospital?" She asked, feeling a bit out of it.

"You collapsed in the kitchen this morning... uh, let me... I'll get the doctor," Harry said, standing up quickly and going out the door before she had time to stop him.

It didn't take long for Harry to return, letting her know a doctor was on the way.

"You brought me to the hospital?" She asked him quietly, studying his concerned face.

"An ambulance brought you to the hospital," he corrected as his eyes watched her.

"You called?" She asked, still watching him hopefully.

"Harris," he answered without hesitation.

"Oh..." She said, noticeably sounding disappointed.

"I couldn't quite call when I had you passed out in my arms, Miss Mason," Harry added, and for some reason it lifted her spirits and she could tell he knew it might.

"Thank you," she said quietly.

Both of their attention was broken away from one another as the doctor came into the room, greeting them quickly.

"Miss Mason, how are you feeling?" The doctor asked, looking slightly sympathetic.

"Tired," she said quietly, smiling faintly at him.

"I can imagine. You were quite dehydrated," the doctor went on to say.

"Is that why... is that why I passed out?" She asked, looking between Harry and the doctor.

"One of the reasons. Uh, Miss Mason, would you like to speak in private?" The doctor asked, looking over at Mr. Styles quickly and then at her again.

"No. It's okay. He's okay," she answered, shrugging it off. Mr. Styles would just end up insisting she tell him what was wrong anyway.

"Alright, well. I'm afraid it's not good news," the doctor began as his face fell a bit.

"What... what is it?" She asked, feeling terrified almost immediately.
