Note- 🙈Sorry for such gap between updating this chapter, lost interest in fandom. You have to read from the beginning of the story to stay connected if you forgot the story plot. Did some minor editing in previous chapters too.

This one chapter has a month of events after Sairat shifts to the new place, not in sequence.

Third/ Mixed POV-

Sai wandered through the new house, trailing her fingers along the walls. Each room felt like a blank canvas, ready to absorb the colours of their life together. There was a fresh openness to the space, a promise of beginnings, yet it still felt fragile—like a thin shell of possibility that needed nurturing to become their haven.

She stared at the walls, pausing as flashes of the Mahabaleshwar trip aftermath—her accident, her departure from Chavan Nivas—hit her like shards of broken glass. Memories flickered unbidden: the joy of decorating her new room after the accident, the way Bhawani Kaku had trampled over that joy with her expectations. Not this time, Sai resolved. This time, she would protect her sanctuary.

.

Sai takes help this time from Virat, not trying to be superwoman with a head injury, handing over her Aaba's photo, pointing to a place on a north wall in this new home so he can always be with her.

They both take a week off from college and work, respectively, to settle properly or rest more, in the case of Sai.

.

Virat, too, takes in the new house, somewhat missing the familiarity of their shared room back at Chavan Nivas, where they spent a year together, but finds the move to this place a good opportunity to mend whatever relationship they both had now. It's complex and growing, not in a bad way.

.

Virat tiptoed into his old room at Chavan Nivas, He opened the cupboard and grabbed a small stack of Sai's novels, a vibrant cushion she'd once insisted on using, and an old wind chime Aaba had gifted her.

As he turned, he came face-to-face with Shivani Bua, her arms crossed and an amused grin on her face.

"Wow, Viru," she said. "Are you redecorating or running a smuggling ring?"

"It's called relocating," he muttered defensively, trying to shuffle past her.

"To where? Sai's happiness fund?" Shivani quipped, blocking his way.

Virat sighed, clutching the items tighter. "She needs these things to make the new place feel like hers. Just... don't make it a big deal, okay?"

Shivani stepped aside with a laugh. "Viru... Rukh toh... mai de rhi trolley... itni bhi kya jaldi he janne ki...oh Haaa...Sai wait kar rhi hogi na..." Virat quickly hightails out of there, denying everything.

Back at the new house, Virat quietly placed the items around their home while Sai was in the other room. The books went on the shelf, her favourite cushion found its place on the couch, and the wind chime hung just outside the window, catching the breeze.

When Sai spotted the wind chime, she froze, her eyes softening as it tinkled gently.

Pulling out her phone, she typed quickly and held it out to Virat, who was pretending to watch TV. "Did you do this?"

Virat shrugged without looking at her. "I don't know what you're talking about. Must've been the house elves."

Sai rolled her eyes and typed again: "Subtle. But thanks."

Virat finally turned to her, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Anything to make it feel like home."

Sai didn't reply. Instead, she plopped down on the couch beside him, hugging the cushion to her chest. She didn't need to say anything—her quiet smile said it all.
