KIM CHAEWON
I came home from school, to find Yunjin laying on the couch, watching TV. I was still surprised and a little angry from earlier. I was also very thankful. I drop my bag on the floor and walk over to the couch.
I clear my throat, getting Yunjin's attention. She looks up at me. "Hi Chae" She says quietly. "Hi" I say, with a hint of attitude. She looks at me, curiously. "What's with the attitude? Did something happen?" She asks, looking concerned.
As if you already don't know
"Yunjin..." I say. She looks at me, curiously. "You shouldn't have fought her" I say. Yunjin sits up in shock. "What? But I was-" she says, but I interrupt. "Ah ah no, you shouldn't have put your hands on her... Look I appreciate you protecting, I'm grateful for that, but I don't want to see you get in trouble in the process" I explain.
Yunjin looks away, then back at me. "I'm sorry Chae" she says in a quiet tone, looking down as she plays with her hands. And I sit next to her on the couch. We watch TV for the rest of that night.

"You are so lucky" Sakura says over the phone. "Hush, I am not" I say. "But come on, a hot girl fought another hot girl to protect you, seriously, how do you do it sis?" Yena says, I can feel her mock-jealousy through the screen. "Please Yen, I can practically see your grin" I say, and Yena sighs. "Damn you, your good at this" she says, going back to playing with Shiro, again. "I just know you too well" I say.
"So, Chae when are coming to see us?" Sakura asks. I grow quiet, I haven't thought about that yet. "I don't know kkura" I say. I can hear her sigh on the other line. "Come see us soon? At least try" she says. "I will, don't worry" I reassure. "Good" She says.
"Ugh, Yena stop wrestling with the dog!" Sakura yells in the background. I can't help but giggle. I can picture what's happening on the other side. "I gotta go, Yena won't stop wrestling with the dog, love ya, bye!" Sakura says, then hangs up. I sit in silence. What should i do? Should I visit my family in Korea and leave Yunjin? Or do I stay here with Yunjin and not see them? I just wish I could have both.
But at the same time, Yunjin is my best friend. Why am I so worried by her reaction? I lay down on my bed, and my eyes grow heavy. I fall asleep. With one thought left in my mind.
I just hope it goes well tomorrow.

The next day at breakfast, it was just me and Yunjin's parents. Yunjin had slept in because she can't go to school due to her suspension. Mr. Huh sipped his coffee, reading his newspaper, while Ms. Huh was cooking breakfast.
Besides the sizzling of the bacon Ms. Huh is cooking, it was quiet. "Chaewon, do you want some bacon?" Ms. Huh asks, holding a plate of bacon. "Sure" I reply quietly. She places a piece of bacon on my plate, which had eggs and toast. "Ms. Huh?" I say, quietly. Mr. Huh looks up from his newspaper, while Ms. Huh turns around to face me.
"Yes, Chaewon?" She says, turning off the stove and sitting across from me, next to her husband. "I talked to my friend and my sister back in Korea" I say. They both look at me. "They asked when I'm going back to Korea to see them" I say, looking at my food. "Chaewon, look at me" Ms. Huh says. I look up from my food and at her. She holds her hand out, I take her hand in mine.
"If you want to go back to Korea to visit your family and friends, just ask" She says. I take a deep breath. "Can I? Please?" I say. "Yes, We'll get the flight ready, until then just sit tight" Mr. Huh says. I smile widely. "Thank you so much" I say, smiling. They give me a soft smile back. "Your welcome" Ms. Huh says. I finish my breakfast and I grab my bag, heading off for school.

"Your going back to Korea?" Kazuha says, shocked by the news I told her. "Yeah, but I'm not staying there permanently, just visiting my friends and family" I explain, then Kazuha nods in understanding. Then, Wonyoung appears in the hall. Now I know something bad is about to go down.
"Well, it's the freak and her other loser friend" Wonyoung says, she looks angry. I can feel the heat radiating off her body. "Hey, Wonyoung that's not nice" I say, quiet and nervous. "Who cares? Your little friend has another thing coming" she says, stepping closer to me. Then I remember what Yunjin did. "She got suspended, isn't that enough for you?" I say. "No, it's not, but I'm warning you" She says, then walks away with her friend group.
Kazuha looks at me with concern, then she looks at Wonyoung with disgust. "Ugh, she's annoying right chae?" Kazuha says. "Yeah, definitely, I'm just worried" I say quietly. "Worried for Yunjin? Don't worry, Yunjin can take it" she says, now looking back at me. "Yeah, I guess so" I say.
Then we head off to class.
