The elevator finally came to a stop, and when the doors opened Blade had ushered her out quickly.

“Where are we?”

“The garage.”

While he was tugging her, she hadn’t noticed that he was no longer holding her wrist, but was instead holding onto her hand. His fingers were intertwined tightly with hers.

“This one,” he said when stopped by  car and opened the door for her. When she got in she noticed the keys were already in the ignition.

“Wait, you can drive?!”

He gave her a look when he got into the driver’s seat.

“You have to show me your driver’s license!”

“No.”

“Wha- why?”

“Just no.”

She huffed before deciding to change the subject, “how come the keys were in the ignition anyway?”

“I was planning to go out for a drive later. Clear my head.”

Though, the moment the words left his mouth, his phone started to ring. Grabbing it from his pocket, he handed it over to you, “answer it while I get us out of here.”

“Shouldn’t you answer it?”

“I don’t use my phone as much, and when it is being used, someone else it always on it.”

He started the engine just as she answered the phone.

“Hello?”

“Blade, this isn’t part of your script, you better-“

Blade reached over to y/n and grabbed the phone. The call was immediately ended.
“Blade?”

“Relax and put your seatbelt on. We’re getting out of here.”

She nodded and quickly did as he said. Though, the moment she got situated in the passenger’s seat, she didn’t expect Blade’s hand to rest on her thigh. The contact sent a jolt through her. It was a different feeling from when Dan Heng would touch her. It was…comforting. She let her fingers trace along the back of his hand.

“Where is this paradise anyway?”

“You’ll know when we get there. But first,” Blade looked in his rearview mirror, a smirk flitted across his lips when he noticed multiple cars following after them the moment they left the garage, “we have to lose them first.”

She had never been in a high-speed chase before, but she had to admit that it was exciting. It was a whole another experience. Buildings, people, dogs, cats, other vehicles – everything was a blur as Blade would hit the gas and it all just flew by them.

“Fatser.”

She didn’t realize she had said that one single word until she felt Blade give her thigh a light squeeze and she felt the car immediately speed up. Driving this fast was a one-way ticket to death, but she trusted Blade to handle a car despite never seeing him drive before. A part of her wished he did this sooner like when they went to that soiree together.

It was so different than being in the back.
This was much more fun and maybe, if she asked nicely, she would be able to drive too after they get away.

Though, the excitement was quick to die down when she noticed that their speed was slowing to a stop. Her focus was finally coming back to her as she looked around.

“Wha-“

“Red light.”

She turned her gaze forward and frowned before looking back at Blade, “you’re kidding.”

Blade jutted his thumb behind him, “we lost them. Wouldn’t do us any good if we’re pulled over.”

Huffing, she crossed her arms over her chest, making him roll his eyes before patting her thigh again, “stop pouting. The place that we’re going has a lot of empty roads. We can speed down them all we want.”

“Will you tell me where we are going now at least?”

“To a house in a small town out in the middle of nowhere. Far from the city. Well, at least that is where I plan on staying. I won’t force you to stay with me.”

She regarded him carefully. She had been lied to, backstabbed, and hurt. But Blade… she could tell he was telling the truth.

“I want to stay with you.”

“Don’t complain to me if you get bored there, then.”

“I won’t.”

The driving by the law was the worst part. It was so much slower compared to the high-speed chase. Though, she didn’t mind it. She got to see a lot as they drove and made a few stops here and there. And even though Blade wasn’t the most talkative, she seemed to fill up that quiet, empty space just fine.

“And then- when I first saw you in that club, I was so terrified of you. It’s good to know that you aren’t so bad when someone gets to know you.”

“Y/n.”

“I kind of wish that…”

“Y/n.”

“But you already know- ow- hey!”

She rubbed her thigh where he had pinched her. Her pout as prominent as ever.

“We’re here.”

That got her attention, quickly turning towards her window her jaw just about dropped, “what the-?! When you said a house out in the middle of nowhere near a small town, I thought you meant a small one with a cute little farm! Not a freaking mansion!!”

Blade shrugged as he opened the door, “you didn’t ask.”

Shaking her head in shock, she let Blade walk around the vehicle an dopen her door for her and held out his hand to her.

“I can still take you elsewhere. Anywhere but here.”

Smiling once again, she shook her head, “I want to stay with you,” she said as she took his hand.

“Then I won’t ever let you go.”

He meant what he said by that too.
