The Breese stood 9 feet tall, its legs bent backwards, its arms long, most of its body was covered in dark hair that resembled a porcupine's spikes. The hairless portions were its chest and hands. The chest had muscular features, with its strong pecs, witnesses assumed it had an aesthetic body, the hair must have been covering it well. The hands had razor sharp claws, enough to pierce and slice stone. The most notable feature was its eyes. The eye color was all black, except for its pupils that shined a strong purple. Most have speculated what its teeth looked like; it could be sharp with 2-inch-long fangs. History has shown its previous vicious marks on animals and humans, the only thing that was ever left was the bone. However, no one truly knew the rest of the creature. All that was left about the thing was old folklore and drawings from the past. This is all the information Randy needed to hunt.
It was midnight, the full moon glowed and shed light from the cloudless sky into the heavy forest. The trees were lined with greenery, critters roamed the forest's bark and dirt grounds. 3 toed footprints lead to the inside of a cave, where a female was lit. The Breese, it was chewing and devouring ferociously on its food. Apples, it had a bundle to its side. It sat, criss-crossed, in front of a fire, hunched over. Then it heard noises behind, it listened closely and carefully but did not turn around. A deer? It looked to its left and it was a deer. The Breese placed its hand on the deer's stomach gently, it felt the slow rumble of vibrations.
The Breese picked up an apple and fed it to the deer, while rubbing its belly.
A gun was fired.
The deer sprinted out of the cave and into the night. The Breese looked into the dark forest. Concerned, it rushed its food and ate the rest of its apples fast. It laid its hand on a tree and closed its eyes. Its nose began to inhale and exhale violently, concentrating. It heard many noises from the forest, water, critters, the wind, all things alike. The unimportant noises started to fade away, it concentrated harder and there it was, footsteps of a human. Only one, the footsteps sounded heavy, must be carrying a lot, and the human chose its steps carefully. It was sneaking and placing its hand on trees.
The Breese didn't know what to do, this was its home for decades. It only knows this forest, it had encountered less than a handful of humans, but the humans only caught a glimpse of the Breese. Could it scare it away? It would try. The Breese stuck its long claws deep into the trees and started to climb. The trees were horrifically tall, bushy, and crowded. As it leaped from one tree to another silently, it started to hear a buzzing noise. The Breese stopped and hid in between the crowded leaves. The noise grew louder and more intense. The Breese peaked, and saw a flying mechanism, floating in the sky. The wings didn't seem organic, it had a light attached to it, it also had a small beeping sound every ten seconds. The mechanism flew away, the Breese didn't feel so safe at the top anymore. As it climbed down, it felt the human getting closer to its location, however it hoped the human was still wandering by chance.
The Breese reached the ground and heard a branched break nearby. It hid behind a tree out of fear, its pupils started to turn to black, it was reading heat signatures. The Breese saw nothing but nature, but it still heard another branch break. The low humming sound was back, but this one was different from before. The Breese was in fight or flight mode, the thing got closer. It then had an idea, The Breese started to stand in a unique, its bones were starting to crack as it disfigured itself to blend in with a tree that had oddly shaped branches. It exhaled, stopped its own breathing, and lowered its own body temperature.
The thing got closer, the Breese peaked, and saw a tiny mechanism. It was legs that rolled, a cold box shaped body with lights and small smooth branches, and an eye that stood high. The small thing looked at the ground, where the Breese's foot had stepped off of. The Breese saw it extend its arm and pick up a piece of its hair.
The Breese swiftly sliced the small thing, cutting off its eye off the body and stomped on its body. It expected to see blood, but it just looked lifeless, just as it did when it was alive.
The Breese had just killed something, it fell to its knees and picked up the small thing. It began to dig and laid its body under the soil of the earth. The Breese patted its grave, but then heard a small beeping sound. It came from the mechanism it had just buried. The Breese hoped it was still alive, it dug, dug, and dug. The beeping became rapid, as it picked up its body, then a white light suddenly appeared, the explosion devastated the surrounding area.
Randy had stepped over as much rubble as he could, trying to find any signs of the creature's corpse. It was a tiny crater, but the surrounding trees and animals had turned to ashes. The explosion should have killed that thing, Randy thought. He held his rifle to his side just in case. Maybe it was just another animal that was killed, but Randy's doubts started to fade away. He was sure it was the thing he was looking for. Randy suddenly heard a noise behind him, he turned quickly, swiftly aimed and shot his rifle. Randy stepped closer to his target, it was a deer with a bullet hole right between the eyes, dead. Randy had told his townsfolk he'd find the damn thing, but there was no evidence. At least, not by the creature. He grabbed his hunting knife and ripped and shredded into the deer's neck, tearing off its head. He then slashed into the deer's body, making marks in a set of three cuts aligned with each other, like claws. Randy buried the head of the deer far away from the scene. He sealed the evidence, in a random location. Randy took photos of the scene, pieces of the creature's hair that somehow survived, and the deer's body. Leaving the forest, hoping to be rich and famous.
It was a ruthless beast, tall, strong, aggressive, and alien. Where does it come from? Does it have a goal? Can it be friendly? The townsfolk doubted it. It was a dark creature that kills for fun. That's what Adam would find out.
A week after the explosion, Adam pulled the short stick, he was dared to go into the forest and spend the night there. Or else he wouldn't be allowed in the cool kid's club.
Adam walked, he feared, and it showed. Every noise made around him, he would jump and have his back against a tree. Eventually, he stumbled upon the crater, he fled the scene, thinking the creature would be nearby. He ran as far as he could, deeper into the forest. Running out of breath, Adam stopped by a slab of stone that had an apple on the top of it. He tried to read what was written on the stone, but it looked like a language he had never seen before. Adam started to walk around the stone, inspecting the apple without touching it. He slowly reached for an apple, and grabbed it quickly, expecting a trap to go off. Nothing happened. He decided to walk away from the stone and eat the apple, entering a cave for shelter.
Burnt remains laid on the floor, he assumed someone had also stayed nearby, but was nowhere to be seen. The night got longer, and he grew tired of the time spent. He slept, hoping to see the next day.
When he arose, he woke up to the sun hitting his face. Confused, he looked around, he was no longer in the cave. He was at the entrance of the forest, with a bag to his side, filled with apples.
