𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 of the expensive clock in the Callahan home sounds throughout the thick silence of the large home, blue staring into blue as two male teenagers stood on either side of the dining room table while an older blonde one stood a little way away, arms crossed over her chest as she shook her head in disbelief.
"Ha! I win!" A blonde teenager shouts in glee, arms shooting up in the air as the older man in front of her groans, throwing his head back, "Another night of not washing dishes!"
"I can't believe I lost!" Vance Callahan grumbled under his breath as he stomped his way towards the kitchen, playfully shoving his daughter as he went.
"The two of you do this every other night, and every other night you lose to our sixteen-year-old." Alexandra Callahan's thick southern accent fills the air as she follows after her husband.
"Are you guys staying the night?" Laken Callahan asks her cousin, Eli, and their best friend, Demetri, as they move to the living room. "Also, I'm driving you guys to school this year, no arguing."
"Do you really wanna do that?" Demetri asked the blonde he had been friends with for as long as he had been friends with Eli. "You could ruin your street cred."
Laken giggled, "Metri, I don't care about my "street cred", most of the people want to be my friend because my parents are loaded. I could really care less what the people at school thought of me. Besides, this year is going to be different, I can feel it."
