"Finished shower?"

Mingi glanced over his shoulder when he felt he was being watched from behind. He turned the carrot he was slicing and found Yunho peeking from behind the wall. His hair was still half-damp, a towel draped over his shoulder, and Yunho wore a shy and awkward expression in the middle of the kitchen, the floor he had chosen himself. In the kitchen, which he usually cleaned even when coming home from the lab at night.

"Yeah. I couldn’t find the hairdryer," Yunho said quietly, as if afraid to offend Mingi. As if afraid to make Mingi feel he was asking for too much.

What the teenage Yunho didn’t know was that if he asked Mingi to bring him the moon at that moment, Mingi would call his contact at NASA and possibly negotiate to borrow one of their moon rocks.

Mingi would do anything for him, in short.

"Oh, it’s in our room," Mingi said casually. Then paused for a moment. Silly, he thought. To avoid the awkwardness and also because Mingi felt like he was committing a crime touching his sixteen-year-old lover, Mingi suggested Yunho sleep in their guest room. After all, to Yunho, Mingi was still a stranger.

"Er ... I’ll get it from my room. Besides, you’re the only one who uses the hairdryer in this house," Mingi said quickly, leaving his half-finished chicken soup.

"If you don’t use a hairdryer, how do you dry your hair?"

Mingi wanted to laugh at Yunho’s half-dismayed tone; he seemed shocked by Mingi’s habits.

Mingi remembered when Yunho and he first officially moved in together. They had often stayed at each other’s places before, you know, after sex it seemed unreasonable to just leave your partner. Staying over was the most sensible option for Mingi, who was in love for the first time. And when they finally bought this apartment together, and after renovations and updates, moving in together, Yunho often judged Mingi’s habits.

Especially personal care issues.

First, the hairdryer issue. Yunho scolded Mingi extensively because his wet hair soaked their carpet. And he complained even more when he found out that Mingi had never used a hairdryer in his life.

"My hair dries quickly."

"But wet hair easily gets dandruff, Minky~"

Second, Yunho was in shock when he discovered that Mingi’s beauty products were just night cream for moisturizer and sunscreen. When staying over, Yunho had seen those products a few times. He just thought Mingi kept serums and other things at home. Yunho was truly dismayed when he saw their vanity mostly filled with Yunho’s beauty products.

"I have good genes, that’s all."

"And they say God is fair," Yunho responded sarcastically.

"Mingi?"

Mingi snapped out of his trip down memory lane. Realizing he might have been holding Yunho’s hairdryer for a while.

"Sorry, just had a flashback." Mingi handed the hairdryer to Yunho.

Yunho looked a bit confused searching for an electrical socket near the vanity. Mingi grabbed the cord from Yunho’s hand, causing their fingers to touch briefly. Then Mingi tried to focus on finding the socket behind their vanity.

"Ready to use," he said, giving Yunho a wide smile.

Then, seemingly unaware, Yunho said, "You have the most dazzling smile I’ve ever seen," and immediately covered his mouth, mumbling, "Sorry, didn’t mean to say that out loud."

Mingi just laughed.

It turned out teenage Yunho had a worse filter than adult Yunho.
