Chapter 1: Sunny Day

                Once again, Arthur Kirkland finds himself in enemy territory. Trudging through fields of German crops to get to the battle front. Quite frankly, he'd rather be reading while sipping Camomile tea on this fine Saturday morning. The sun was shining, no clouds in sight, a cool breeze that rattled the leaves, creating a sound of peace. It's almost sinister, that there is such fine weather on a day that forecasts violence. He almost decided to head home, wait till a more depressing day to fit the atmosphere, but his pride got the better of him. Arthur wasn't about to let Ludwig, and that imbecile Feliciano win again. It's a disgrace to lose to such an idiot.

Before Arthur had departed, François tried desperately to convince him not to.

"Why go now on such a beautiful morning when you can stay here and relax? No need to start up another battle that will end up in me saving you"

"You twat! You never come to 'save me', you run away as soon as things get dangerous and leave me to fight of the Germans all by myself!"

Arthur grunted at that memory, François was the one that needing saving, not him. Almost every week he ends up in some kind of trouble with Axis and needs assistance. Every week Arthur goes rushing towards his rescue. Risking his own life just so that frog doesn't get himself killed. Come to think of it, why does he help him? If he hates him so much why not leave him or let someone else save him. Alfred could fight off a German fleet easily. He stops walking. That's an interesting thought. What is it about François that has him leaping into battles with no questions asked. Even after all the wars they've fought.

Maybe it's becau- Arthur immediately shakes the thought away. Why would he like François? That's just preposterous! Insulting even, everything about François is an utter turn-off. His overgrown hair, his silly accent, and his stupid fashion sense! There's no way in a million years that Arthur would ever like François...
