What happened?

What became of all the moments shared between Chifuyu and you?

As Chifuyu finally closes his eyes for the night and drifts into a deep sleep after hours of restlessness, he wishes he could return to the past. Since that's not possible, he instead replays the events from his recent life in his mind.

Years ago, when Takemichi went back in time for the last time, Chifuyu's POV...

"AH!" I yelled at the top of my lungs as soon as I woke up. My heart pounded in my chest, my ears were ringing, and I felt breathless. What was that dream? I slowly swung my legs over the side of the bed and tried to piece together the hazy fragments of my dream. It was the first time I had such a vivid one.

Staring blankly at the floor, I strained to understand the dream. In it, I was friends with a long-haired guy and a mysterious girl. What was strange was that I recalled being on the verge of marrying her. We seemed to have had a wonderful time together, and I felt deeply in love with her. Yet, I couldn't recall meeting any girl like that in real life. Not that I was concerned about any romantic interests right now—after all, I was still a kid.

Lost in thought, my mom burst into the room, concerned by my earlier shout. I swallowed hard and shook my head, telling her it was nothing more than a silly dream. But part of me wondered if it might be more than that—could it be some kind of prediction?

***I went to school as usual, and over time, I grew more confident in myself. I started picking fights with guys, believing I was unbeatable. To my surprise, I always came out on top, and people began to recognize my strength. It felt incredible—was I really that powerful? I walked with my head held high.

That night, I had the same dream again. It was just like before: the long-haired guy and the mysterious girl appeared in my dream like an aurora. Yet again, I brushed it off without much thought.

At school the next day, I was headed to meet Keisuke Baji, known for being a hotshot rebel and a formidable fighter. He hadn't graduated and was held back, which made him an intriguing target for my boldness. I wanted to challenge him and see what he was all about. When I finally found him, I was stunned—he was nothing like the fierce reputation that preceded him.

He looked like a nerd—just an ordinary one at that. With his long hair tied back and wearing glasses, he seemed nothing like the feared fighter everyone talked about. I approached him with the intention of stirring trouble, but instead found myself helping him with basic words. To my surprise, he seemed quite clueless. Was this really the guy people were afraid of? I began to feel sorry for him and thought he was just the subject of rumors.

As I headed home in the evening, I was confronted by the same guy I had previously beaten up, but this time he brought his gang along. I stood my ground and fought to maintain my image, but there were too many of them. I was overpowered, beaten, and bloodied, but I refused to back down. Even as I faced the odds, I kept my head held high, determined not to show weakness.

Then, out of nowhere, the nerdy guy, Baji, appeared. I was stunned, and even more so when he began to threaten the bullies. I quickly moved to protect him, despite the danger he was putting himself in. But Baji stood firm. He untied his hair and removed his glasses, revealing a completely different persona. I was in awe—he looked absolutely badass.

I watched in awe as Baji took on the bullies, one by one, effortlessly defeating them. I was speechless as he drove them away. Afterward, I looked at him with newfound admiration. Then it hit me—he was the same guy from my dream. I had been foolish to doubt him just because he looked nerdy in real life but badass in my dream.
