Quinn

Quinn woke to the sound of Keegan's snoring next to his ear. The warmth of his embrace was peaceful. It made him feel cherished. Normal. Just Quinn McAlester, regular teenage boy, not Blue Spekter, the superhero.

He grinned drowsily as he tightened his grip on Keegan's hands around his chest.

The sky outside was a dark blue and light was beginning to make its way up the mountains. He closed his eyes and drifted back to sleep.

A knock on the door woke them up.

"Boys, are you awake?" Ezra asked from outside.

Keegan yawned.

"Yeah," Quinn answered reluctantly. He wanted to sleep a little longer.

"Are you busy?"

"No, we were just sleeping," Keegan told him, drowsily.

Quinn chuckled, guessing he knew what Keegan's dad was thinking.

"Oh, good, then you should get ready, breakfast will be served in twenty minutes, so be sure to brush your teeth and get dressed before you head down to the dining room."

"Will do, Dad."

Quinn heard Ezra walk away.

He turned around to face a smiling Keegan, who balanced his head on his hand.

"Good morning," he whispered.

"Good morning."

He lowered to kiss him. Quinn let himself get lost in the moment.

"We should get up," he said sooner than intended.

Keegan snickered.

"Probably. But before that..." He reached inside Quinn's shirt and lifted it up, then lowered his head to press his lips on Quinn's heating skin.

Oh my God. This is so hot.

After they finished their little blissful moment, they crawled out of bed, and Keegan went back to his room to change his clothes. Quinn chose a simple t-shirt and a pair of shorts then combed his hair and brushed his teeth.

He waited for Keegan to finish changing. When he did, they both made their way down to the dining room. Their parents were already down and waited to be served by Albert and Aida.

"Good morning, boys," Aida greeted while setting down a basket of bread. "Did you sleep well last night?"

They nodded together. Keegan eyed at him with a mischievous smirk. Quinn had to curl his lips in to hide his smile.

His dads, however, already saw through his façade. He took a seat next to Dad and Keegan seated next to his parents.

"So what are our plans for the day, Aida?" Ezra asked.

"Well, we didn't really plan much before you arrived," Aida confessed, "But this town has hiking activities. We're quite familiar with the locals, so we can sign you up at the last minute. You'll love the Texas hill country. It's one of the most beautiful places in the world."

"I have to agree," Quinn chimed in, reaching for a slice of bread and a box of butter. "On the ride here, I couldn't stop looking at the view. It really is beautiful. I've seen high mountains before, but the countryside of this state is really something."

Daddio raised his eyebrows in amusement while chewing down his bowl of salad.

"And the food here is exquisite, too," he said after swallowing, and then asked, "Aida, how does your husband do this? The vegetables taste amazing. It's even better than the stuff I make."
