Fredericka picked a pendant for Keegan's mom. It had a golden frame that surrounded the edges of a ruby stone and two interlaced triangles on its center that formed the Star of David. Since Keegan's family was Jewish, it was the fitting gift.

The ghost took off right after she told her Quinn needed her help. Since Quinn and his family would be in town for the next few days, her best option would be to watch over him and try to find out as best she could what he needed help with.

Face it. Ghosts are total communication retards. They hardly made sense most of the time. Sometimes they could even be confused themselves due a traumatic death experience. That was the case with her grandmother. Her spirit just hung around for weeks when she passed by the local cemetery, with no recollection of her life. She didn't even know they were related until Kylie found out the truth.

Brandon Hart, Fredericka's tribrid boyfriend and boss, came out right after Keegan decided to pay for the pendant. He busied himself with talking to Helen and Miranda while Kylie talked with Quinn.

"I'm sorry about the question earlier," she apologized. "I'm... not really sure what came over me."

"It's okay," he assured her. "So what year are you're in?"

"I'm in my third year."

"What're you majoring in?"

"Psychology. I'm studying to become a counsellor."

"Really?"

She nodded. "The school we went to is very special, and I want to be able to contribute when I go back there to work full time."

They watched Fredericka hand over the wrapped jewelry and receipt to Keegan. Brandon was showing Miranda and Helen his wooden reindeer statue. Miranda looked back at Kylie and Quinn with a smile on her face.

"Kylie, you gotta look at this. It's amazing."

Kylie and Quinn walked over. Keegan and Fredericka joined them, too. Kylie gazed at the wooden animal. It was definitely an impressive work of art. The eyes, the long snout, the sharp horns, the extensive details of hanging fur, even the hooves that were perched on top of a wood log.

"I tried to carve a buck, but as I was halfway through, my mind started leaning toward a Christmas reindeer," Brandon explained. "I was going to throw it away and start over, but Ricka here convinced me otherwise." He glanced at Fredericka, who smiled back.

"It'd be a waste to throw away something so beautifully made," she said.

Fredericka wasn't exactly the friendliest person. In fact, she had a rather hostile beginning with Kylie when she was crushing on Lucas. But after they saved Holiday from being murdered by the same man who murdered her sister together, things started to improve. And now that she had Brandon, she was almost a completely different person. She was happier and more open.

"It really is beautiful," Keegan commented. "I never learned to understand art, but even I'm impressed by the work you put into this. Do you have any more?"

"Yes, but they're still in progress," Brandon answered. "So I apologize, but I prefer to show them to other people only after they're finished."

Quinn nodded. "Not a problem."

A small group of adults entered the gallery. Helen was the first to step away from the statue.

"Looks like you got some customers," she said.

Brandon brushed his hand across Fredericka's arm before he walked away to tend to the customers. Miranda picked up her bags.

"Well, we should get going," she said and then eyed at Kylie. "Unless you wanna look around some more."
