Quinn

Quinn tensed as he watched the fire in the diner escalate.

Shit, I don't have my suit with me!

He patted Keegan's arm to get his attention. His boyfriend gave him an understanding look.

"Go," he whispered and nodded at the store they just came out from. "There's a back alley, you can go through there."

Quinn gave him an appreciative look.

"Hey, what is she doing?!" someone said.

Quinn and Keegan looked back at the scene, and tensed at the sight of Kylie rushing into the burning place. Some locals screamed after her, but she paid them no attention.

Is she trying to get herself killed?! I gotta act quickly.

He darted into the back alley and was halfway through turning himself invisible when a group of people appeared from the other end of the alley.

The hell?!

Without so much as thinking, he jumped into an open dumpster and closed the lid.

Urgh, I really should've thought this through.

The repugnant stench of garbage surrounded him. But now wasn't the time to worry about smell. Acting quickly, he turned himself fully invisible then burst out of the stinking dumpster. He hardly acknowledged the guys who jumped back at the dumpster as he flew higher and further away from the site, then turned visible again and made his body and eyes glowed brightly to conceal his identity.

With his Blue Spekter persona on, he flew back toward to the burning restaurant. Someone was tending to an unconscious man on the ground. The spectators looked up and gawked at his appearance. He paid them no mind. The fire was still rising on dangerous levels. He needed to act fast.

"It's him," one of the witnesses said with an amazed voice.

Blue Spekter landed in front of the diner. He could see the door to the driver's seat was open with super vision. Fighting the urge to look for Keegan in the crowd, he tended to the unconscious middle aged man. A bearded guy was tending to him.

"What happened?" he asked him.

The man blinked through his amazement and answered, "He drove into the diner with his car. He must've had a heart attack and lost control. After the fire broke out, a girl went in and got him out, but then she ran back in to save someone else. She hasn't come out since."

Blue Spekter rushed into the smoke-and-flame-infested establishment. The black smoke loomed everywhere and made it hard to see. He formed an invisible shield around himself to hold back the smoke. There was no sign of Kylie anywhere.

But she's in here somewhere.

The fire was spreading from the counter where the car hit. It was now climbing up toward the ceiling. The floor was filled with gasoline leaking from the car's fuel tank. In just a few seconds, the flames will connect with the gas and then it will spread throughout the diner and burn the whole place down. And if it reached the car, it will surely explode.

Okay, first thing first. Let's put the fire out.

Blue Spekter aimed his hands at the fire on the floor and shot beams of ice out of his palms. He wasn't sure if ice was worked better than water, but right now there wasn't much of a choice. The fire doused under the extreme cold.

Guess it works better than water, he thought gleefully with the new knowledge.

The floor was now completely covered in a layer of ice. He moved on to putting out the flames on the counter, navigating through the air. Then he redirected to the burning walls and finally the door.
