Helion, Catamount, Ron, Chief Applegate, Lieutenant Doral looked expectantly at Agent Tallman. The guy wore a calm façade but spending all that time with Victor Kraze in the past had helped Helion learn the hint when someone was feeling upset. The slight pressure on the lips, the fingers struggling against the urge to fist together. He clearly wasn't happy that someone had dug into his private life. Agent Tsang wasn't doing a great job hiding her own annoyance. Agent Sharpe looked mostly concerned, like he had been caught in the middle of an argument.

"Agent Tallman, would you care to explain this?" Helion asked again while pointing at the paper.

Tallman and Tsang shared looks. She nodded.

If they try to deny it, I'll throw their sorry asses back to Texas.

Tallman finally opened his mouth. Whatever he was about to say was interrupted by the sound of a high-pitched screaming in the distance. Helion, Catamount, Tallman, and Tsang looked at the window. Applegate, Ron, Sharpe and Doral eyed at them with confusion.

"Someone's in trouble," Tsang said.

Applegate looked even more confused. "What?" she asked.

They wouldn't have heard it. They don't have super hearing.

"Someone just screamed from over there," Helion explained.

Doral followed their gaze, and said, "I didn't hear anything."

There was that scream again. Helion recognized it as a girl's voice. And it was familiar.

"I'll be right back," he said and started out.

"I'm coming with you," Agent Tsang declared and followed.

Helion immediately whirled around to block her path with his hands planted on the both sides of the doorframe. "I didn't ask for you to back me up," he said harshly.

Tsang's brown irises emitted in a dark red glow that made her look both powerful and menacing. Helion almost took a step back.

"I wasn't asking," she seethed and was out the door at the speed of a flying bullet.

Helion managed to follow her speed with his glance.

"Oh, wow," Ron whispered.

Helion looked back from the doorway, only catching a glimpse of everyone's (except for Tallman and Sharpe) shocked expressions before Tallman sped after his girl. Catamount remained collected, but he sensed that she was just as surprised as he was.

"Um, guys, you should go probably after them and find out what's going on," Sharpe suggested.

Helion nodded, looked at Catamount, and then raced out of the police station to catch up to Tallman and Tsang.

"Come on," Catamount said and flew off over the station.

Helion followed. Voices echoed in the distance. Screams, hissing, snarls behind the rustling of trees and running engines of nearby cars.

"Let her go, or I'll make your family jewels pay," Agent Tsang said with her most threatening tone.

"They're over there," Helion whispered to Catamount.

"I know. Come on." She grabbed Helion's hand and made herself invisible. "Hurry, turn yourself invisible."

He did as she suggested. Catamount then pulled him toward the voices. It was easy to spot them from bird's view. Tsang and Tallman stood beside each other, facing against what looked like a gang of five muscular men. Something about their silhouettes rang a bell, but he couldn't remember where he'd seen them. A small figure lay unconscious behind the group. No, not unconscious. Hurting. Her pained whimpering reached into his eardrums.
