Blake

"Oh, almost forgot," Helion said. He reached into his pocket and carefully pulled out the knife the vamps used. "One of those guys had this, and it somehow glowed and mesmerized some of us." He handed it over to Sharpe. "Maybe you can find out something about it."

Sharpe inspected it, flipped it over to do the same, and nodded. "I'll get to it as soon as I can."

Helion said good night to Ron and Director Potter, called Applegate to let her know about tomorrow's abrupt meeting before taking off for his condo. During the flight home, his mind tried to wrap around what happened tonight. Vampires were real, and so were werewolves and fairies, and God knows what else. And apparently, there's an organization that deals with underground supernatural cases. And he just got swept off his feet–literally–while fighting La Fuerza vamps.

He landed outside his balcony and telekinetically willed the door open. After getting inside, Helion removed his superhero suit and went to take a shower, where he also relieved two days worth of sexual tension. His cellphone rang right after he finished.

C'mon, can't I get a break?!

He ignored it and let the hot water soothe his nerves. The ringing stopped, followed by the ding of a new text. Blake finished his relieving shower, wrapped a towel tightly around his waist to cover his junk then went to check the phone. It was from Quinn: You won't believe this. I just met an actual vampire at a school full of freaky creatures. Oh, and Kylie is supernatural too.

What the hell? Did we both have a freaky experience in two separate places on the same day?

Blake was halfway through texting a question before changing his mind and pressed the call button.

Quinn

Keegan. Keegan. Keegan.

Quinn's mind was filled with Keegan-sensation, images of his beautiful boyfriend, his breath and excited moans, his kisses that blew his mind away, and his hands tangled around him. The lights overhead continuously flickered while they made out on Keegan's bed.

The ringing phone broke into their blissful moment. Quinn groaned as he pulled away from his boyfriend to check. "Sorry, babe, it's Blake." Keegan let him crawl out of his embrace to answer it, but his hands remained on Quinn's back.

"Hey, Blake."

"Hey, sorry I didn't answer earlier, I was in the shower."

"No problem."

"Hi, Blake," Keegan said with a laugh from behind.

"Oh, am I interrupting?"

Quinn grinned from cheek to cheek. Keegan nuzzled his neck like a puppy dog. A hot, sexy p–, "No, it's fine. How did it go?"

"Oh, you won't believe what happened."

I'm sure I will after what happened.

Blake told him about how Ana María uncovered Agent Tallman's death certificate, the gang that attacked a girl Blake worked with at the café, and how they worked with the agents to fight them off. Quinn was shocked to hear about the turn of events.

"Do you need me to come back? I can fly back to Portsmouth if you need me," he offered.

"No, we're fine. We got it under control. If I need you, I'll call. Or someone else will."

Quinn paced around Keegan's room with Keegan watching from the bed. He felt guilty about leaving his best friend alone with all the responsibilities while he went on vacation. Blake was the one who insisted he go on this trip because he would run things in his absence with the local police and the STF's help, but that didn't make him feel relieved. He knew, however, that Blake wanted to prove himself to their allies. Most of them still feared him after all the horrible things he did when he had that malfunctioning micro bug in his head. Quinn wanted him to have that chance, too.
