Della
Catamount sped ahead of Della and crashed straight into the tornado nearing the Kittery Estates building. Della made it to the outskirt seconds later. The roads were lined with cars blocking the path. Some even abandoned their cars to run away from the tornado. But their legs would be nothing compared to the cyclonal approach. Chase was busy helping clear the road that led up to the highway, and Steve (who was now a ten-foot-tall gorilla) hovered over a slightly smaller rectangular building across from the estates.
Catamount's identical pink aura brightened the tornado. Della braced herself to intervene in case something happened.
The monstrous catastrophe was overcome by Catamount's counter force. It dispersed within seconds. The air was no longer violent and dusty. The rain turned light. The sky much clearer than minutes ago. Peace and serenity were all there was. Della smiled at the joy of success. They had stopped the spell.
Catamount, still glowing, made her way back to Della. She lifted a thumb and said, "We did it."
Chase joined them in the air, followed by Steve in falcon form. Catamount smiled and inclined her head.
"Come on. We better catch up with the others," she said.
Della and Chase started to follow Catamount back to Portsmouth.
"Wait," Steve called. "It's not over."
Chase gazed at him confusingly. "What do you mean? The tornados are gone, the lightning's gone, and the storm's vanished."
"I know, but something is not right. I can feel it."
"Did the falcon just talk?"
Della looked over at Catamount, who was staring widely at Steve. "Oh, right. This is our friend. He's a shape-shifter." She turned her attention back to Steve. "What do you mean something's not right?"
"I don't know. I just know it's something big. Like we stopped most of the storm, but there is another one coming. And it's worse than before."

Miranda
The tornado up ahead was too far away from the Sarah Long Bridge. The lightning strike wasn't likely to hit them. But Miranda had to trust her vision.
Just for safety's sake.
Miranda focused her mind on extra lightning rods and wires. The power of the mystic witch in her yielded. When she opened her eyes, there were dozens of lightning rods embedded on all four towers. The wires connected to them from the bottoms were safely secured on the girders leading down to where Perry was–down in the deep waters of the Piscataqua River, hopefully finished shifting into an eel.
There was a blinding flash and then the first lightning came down... and landed right into the closest lightning rods. Its energy absorbed into the magically-conjured devices and traveled along the wires down into the river. Miranda stood on the edge of the tower and peeked down. For an instant, she could have sworn she spotted a silhouette of a gigantic, limbless sea creature brighten with electricity.
Then a dizzying thought came to mind.
No. Don't look down. No sooner than she backed away from the edge came the second fated bolt. Its energy that would destroy the tower and drag the bridge down, along with all the people on it, darted straight at them... and broke in five or six directions as the rods devoured it and sent it down into the river.
Far down below, the river made sounds of huge waves. Miranda instinctively looked back down. There was the monstrously enormous electrical eel that was Perry. The sight reminded Miranda of the Mosasaurus from Jurassic World.
