Della

"Unbelievable." That was the first word that came out of her mouth after they returned to the factory and Della saw the rest of Miranda's family. Her parents were in nightwear, so they were definitely having a private moment before their daughter snatched them away from their home.

She just hoped they weren't in the middle of doing the deed. That would have been too awkward to overlook.

Kylie, Chase, Lucas, Steve, Perry and the Guardians all had the same surprised look on their faces.

After Miranda finished explaining, Helion called Chief Applegate to explain the situation. Blue called Potter to do the same.

"Well, at least it's over," said Helion. "That damn gang has been a major pain on our asses. And now they're gonna be behind bars."

"Unless they find a way to escape," Blue Spekter murmured before he could stop himself.

"They won't," said Della with a smirk. "Your doctor has designed a massive jailcell to keep them in, and we FRU have special equipment for keeping them from using their powers. That warlock won't be able to escape even if he tried."

Helion exhaled.

"That's good to know."

"On that note," Steve chimed in, "I should get outta here. Need to check on Natalie and the damage at my house, and then I need to check on Millie."

In all the excitement, Della had completely forgotten about the poor girl. "Will you let me know if she's okay?"

He nodded, and then turned to leave the factory. Miranda stopped him and ran into his arms. Steve eyed down at her with a surprise but soon reciprocated the gesture. Della rolled her eyes. That is so like her.

She finally pulled back. "It was good to see you again."

Steve grinned. "Same here."

With that, he turned away, took falcon form, and took off. Della looked after him until he was out of the house. She sensed jealousy from Chase ooze its way into her chest.

"Don't be jealous. He's been a good friend."

Chase scoffed.

Quinn

Burnett talked with Director Potter over the phone while everyone else dispersed.

Mentally exhausted from the day's actions, Blue Spekter laid back in a corner and watched Miranda hug her family goodbye and then wave her hand in the air with her pinky finger extended. A puff of pink smoke materialized from the ground and engulfed them. When it cleared, they were gone. It amazed Quinn to see a real witch in action. It was almost like watching Hermione do a high-level spell. That girl had descended from a family of humans and yet inherited magic from some distant ancestor and used it to kick some Death Eater ass.

He playfully connected the Harry Potter references to Shadow Falls as Perry sat down next to him.

"She's really something, isn't she?"

She now talked with her two friends. Helion hung back with the guys while Catamount had her back pressed into a corner.

"Yeah." A question popped into his mind. "Can I ask you something? You both graduated from Shadow Falls, right?" When Perry nodded, he continued. "What was it like to go there? Was it magical?"

Perry's lips lifted to a smile. "You probably think there is a lot of magic going to an institution as special as Shadow Falls. Let me assure you of one thing. It is. Most of our communities have been separate from each other because of political and prejudicial issues. They're still issues. Shadow Falls isn't just a school, it's a home for people with powers. A place where we don't have to constantly rein in our abilities to keep normal people from finding out what we are. I had some of the best times in my life there, I can assure you of that. There are kids whose parents are unaware of their abilities, and the school is a way to help them stay in touch with them. But it's not for everyone. So if you're thinking about transferring, you should consider what you're getting yourself into and whether it's worth it. Your choice is yours, man."
