Draco Malfoy's usual aloofness tempered by genuine curiosity. The two of us had spent the past hour immersed in conversation. He leaned back in his chair, a slight smile on his lips.
"So, you're saying that Muggle music is worth exploring?"
I nodded enthusiastically.
"Absolutely. There's so much variety. You'd be surprised by how magical some of it can feel, even without actual magic."
He chuckled, the sound surprisingly warm.
"I'll take your word for it. So, what brings you into this café every day?" He asked, his voice soft and inviting.
I glanced around the cozy café, taking in the familiar surroundings. The hum of quiet conversations, the soft clink of cups, and the comforting aroma of coffee and pastries created a serene atmosphere. I returned my gaze to Draco, a small smile playing on my lips.
"It's the peacefulness and anonymity it provides." I replied. "In the magical world, everything is so intense. There's always something happening, always someone who knows who you are and what you've done."
I paused, savoring the moment of tranquility. "But here, it's different. No one knows me or expects anything from me. I can just be myself, away from the pressures and expectations of the magical world. It's like a little sanctuary where I can breathe and find some peace."
Draco nodded slowly, his expression thoughtful. "I understand that." He said quietly. "Sometimes, the weight of our world can be overwhelming. It's nice to have a place where you can just exist without all the baggage."
I smiled warmly at him.
"Exactly. And this place, with its muggle simplicity and warmth, gives me that respite. It's a place where I can escape, even if just for a little while."
Draco's eyes softened, and he seemed to relax, a hint of a smile curving his lips.
"I'm glad you have that. Everyone needs a place to find peace."
"Even though I come here almost everyday, I've never seen you come here before except yesterday and today. What brought you here the second time?" I asked, leaning back on the chair.
"Well, the first time I came here, I felt same as yours." He went on. "Found my little corner. But something brushed my thoughts and I sensed something which was obviously you. And today, now that I met you, I found my answer."
"Right." I looked down, a smile spreading across my face. "The tingles."
"Yeah." He chuckled lightly. "The tingles. Perks of being a wizard."
Glancing at my watch, I sighed.
"Look at the time. I really should get going."
Draco's heart sank a little at the thought of my departure. He didn't want this to end just yet. Gathering his courage, he decided to take a chance.
"Would you like me to take you out sometime?"
I blinked in surprise, a blush slowly spreading across my face.
"Uhh... sure." I saw relief and excitement washed over him.
I pulled out my phone as he slipped out his. I gave him my number and watched him save it.
"There." I said, slipping my phone back into my pocket.
"Thank you." His eyes bright with anticipation.
"No biggie, Mr. Malfoy." I stood, gathering my things.
"Just Draco." He stood as well.
"Alright, Draco. Reckon, I'll see you soon." I smiled and walked out.
Draco stared at the new contact saved in his phone, a genuine smile spreading across his face. He couldn't wait to meet again.
