{A\N:- I don't know a lot about the UK, so I'm sorry if I get anything wrong}
Alaric looked at the old building in front of him which had stood there since 1894. He took a deep breath and started on his way into the building. Many people passed by him, all of them in the school uniform, which Alaric didn't understand why they needed to wear a uniform, it was just some dumb boarding school for rich kids, the only reason Alaric was there was because he had gotten a scholarship into the school. He was the only one not in unifrom, which caused some pretty odd looks to be shot his way.
Alaric was soon wanting to sit down because of all the steps that lead up to the fifth floor of the building where his dorm was located at. "E12" he repeated over and over in his head, try to memorize which one was his dorm room. He soon got to the third floor, then the fourth, and eventually the fifth. "E1...E2...E3..." his eyes scanned the numbers, walking a bit faster to get to his dorm, "E9...E10...E11...E12" he was finally there after what felt like hours.
He pulled the door open and quickly entered it. The room was pretty average, he was lucky enough to get a dorm all to himself, it was one of the only ones left anyway. The dorm had a closet, dresser, desk, bed, and a bathroom in the corner. He set his suitcase down onto his bed and then took off his school bag and set it down next to the door. He then went over to his suitcase and started to unpack it, it only held some clothes and his uniform was already in his closet. This wasn't much of a surprise because the school had already provided everything that he had needed in order to study there. Not to mention how when he had gotten there, they had taken all his electronics.
Once he was done unpacking, he sat down on his bed with his head in his hands, he didn't know why he even agreed to go to the school. He just wished he had stayed back home in London with all his friends. He looked up from his hands and at the picture on his desk, it was a photo of him and all of his friends. I'm so sorry, John... he thought, starring at his old lover's face who stood beside him in the photo. John had black curly hair and red dyed tips, which Alaric thought looked better than his own straight burnette hair. He just felt so bad, he had left them without any explaination, let alone a goodbye.
Alaric looked at the clock that sat next to the photo, it read 5:32, he still had time to get his mind off of things. So he got up and grabbed his bag before exiting the dorm room. He was carful to not bump into anyone as he made his way down the wide hallway, it was like a scene out of a horror movie. No one else was there except for him and the old building that would creak under every step he made. He soon made it to the dreaded staircase that with one wrong move could be sending him to his death. He took a deep breath and slowly made his way down the dreaded stairs that could have fallen apart in any moment because of how old they were. Step by step made a new wave of anxiety flow through his body.
He eventually made it down to the bottom just fine, much to his surprise. He smiled and then continued on his way through the mysterious building. He soon stepped out and made it outside, before turning back to admire the ivy covered walls. He turned back to the path and continued on his way. The campus was huge, there were two buildings for the dorms, all diffrent age groups, the smallest one was for the primany schoolers, they were supposed to be a least, then the secondary school one, which was the one he had just came ouut of. The school itself was three diffrent buildings, it was practically a castle.
Alaric reached into his school bag and took out his schedule, he might as well find his classes before it was too late. He walked over to the school which took a solid 10 minutes, he took a mental note of that. When he stepped into the main building he was surprised to find so many kids his own age just wandering around like he was, maybe they were new too. Alaric certainly didn't know. He just wanted to find his classes.
The hallways seemed to never end, they would just go on forever into twists and turns. It was just too much, may too much for Alaric, at this point he didn't know if he would ever get out of there, he was never good with directions in the first place, so what type of idea did he even have when he thought that he would get back to his dorm before cerfew. It was 7:22 at this point and the curfew was 10:30 for the secondary school kids. Alaric had never felt so stressed in his life just about getting home on time, but if he didn't get back to his dorm on time then he would be locked out and he will be late to class in the morning.
Alaric's eyes scanned the halls, looking for a teacher, a student, hell even the janitor, he just needed to see anyone. He eventually noticed a boy around his age reading a book while sitting on the bench in the hallway. He smiled a bit then approached the boy and hesitantly asked him, "Hey, do you know where the exit is?" The boy looked up at him, his hazel eyes meeting his own dark brown eyes.
"Yeah, it's down the hall to the left." The boy said, he has a slight irish accent that was a bit surprising to hear, but Alaric paid no mind to it.
"Thanks, man." Alaric replied then quickly walked away to get out of the building, he had been so close yet so far. He nearly tripped over his own two feet on his way there, he turned around to make sure the boy didn't see it, but luckily for him, the boy went back to reading. He quickly got himself togeather and ran to the exit and ran out of there. When he burst out of the doors, heads of students whipped around to look at him. Alaric akwardly chuckled and sped walked to the dorms. It didn't take very long, but he knew that the stairs, which were the bain of his existence, were going to be a pain to get up.Alaric mentally cursed himself as he flopped down onto his bed. His legs felt like noodles after walking up and down those stairs... twice. He wanted to curl up into a ball and cry from the pain, he looked at the clock, 8:10, it was 8:10. He wanted to get to sleep, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. He got up and went to sit at his desk and look through the calender that they had given him, along with his schedule. He had eight classes every day, which wasn't much of a change from his last school.
He sighed and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and decided to write his parents a letter, though he knew that they didn't want to hear from him. He didn't even think that the school would even let him send the letter, let alone get one back. He sighed and just wrote it;Dear Mom and Dad,
Hi, how have you been? I know it has been a bit less than a day since we last saw each other, but I miss you both. I wish that I knew why you sent me here, but I know that you save your reasons. Today I got lost when I was exploring the school to find my classes, it was kinda strange, but I did talk to a boy, so that was cool. I can't wait to get back home because when I get back home, we can be a big happy family again! I love you both, and tell Clara that I love her as well.
Sincerely, Alaric.

Alaric looked down at the paper and then folded it up in order to fit it into an envelope. He looked through the drawers of the desk, just hoping to find one, but he eventually did in the top right drawer. He put the paper into the envelope and then addressed it to his parents. He tried his best to remember, but it had been a while since he ha written a letter. He looked at the clock, it was 8:43. He jumped up from his seat and ran out of his dorm then down the steps to the mail room. He slipped the note into the box then ran back up to his dorm so he could go to bed soon.
By the time he got back to his dorm, it was 8:55. He slipped off his clothes that he was wearing and then put on his pajamas which consisted of a white t-shirt and his boxers, he didn't feel like trying to find some pajama pants. He folded his clothes and put them away, in his opinion, they weren't dirty yet since he only wore them once. He went into the bathroom and washed his face before drying off and slipping into his bed. It took an hour or two for him to fall asleep, only to be met by nightmares, but he didn't mind, he was used to it at this point.----------------
