Pleasing age

6 2 6

Sharp gazes look her way.

Cutting through
the clothes and garments.

Nothing but flesh
to please their
watchful gape.

Their fingers graze
the naked rind.

As eyes glance away,
a great emptiness replaces
the sight they once lured at.

There is no worth
in a girl
who has no admirers
because if no one is
peering at her skin,
is there really any girl
to begin with?

Was she real
if no one is watching?

Where does she go
when all the scanners
lose interest.

She dissappears
into the background.

A girl only lasts so long
before she is a woman,
before she loses her shine
that made their eyes
open wide.

She is too bright.

A woman who sparkles
in the dark and light
is too much
for the leering eyes.

They are blind.

They don't want to change,
so you shouldn't have to either.
