"My first apartment," I said as I set the last box down. I began pushing it across the floor. Despite being forced to leave, I thought it was about time for me to move out anyway. I never cared for nor liked my parents. I finally got the box pushed over to the others and looked around my apartment. "Now what?" I asked myself, my eyes falling onto my pet carrier. "I guess you can come out now," I said, crawling over to the crate and opening it. An American pitbull terrier mixed breed came out with a vest on that said service dog. "Hey, gourdo, sorry about the rough ride," I said to him, and he gave me a grumpy bark. I then heard a knock on the door. "Who could this be?" I raised an eyebrow and walked to the door, cracking it. A short woman with red hair was standing in front of my door. “Oh..uhh, hello, ma’am,” I said as I opened the door more. “How can I help you?” I asked her, and she stared at me for a good minute before her face lit up. “No way! Xiomara?” she said. I paused. “You…how do..who are you?” she smiled. “It's me, Kobayashi!” she yelled.

“Kobayashi…it's been so long, I didn't think you'd recognize me” she nodded
“I live just two doors down, well I'm having a small party for New Year's tonight, if you want to stop by then you're more than welcome”
“Are you sure? I don't want to intrude, would you like me to bring anything?”
“We could use some desserts”
“Okay, I can go pick some up; that's not a problem,” I said before looking at Gourdo, “Come on, boy,” I pat my leg, and he walked to me. I clipped his leash onto him and shut my door. Kobayashi flinched back “Oh my god…what happened?” She asked me. I felt the side of my face which was heavily scarred. “My… ex-girlfriend didn't treat me the best,” I said in a shaky voice. Gourdo went between my legs and sat down looking at me. “I'm fine. I'm going to go to the store; I'll talk to you later,” I said, walking down the hallway with Gourdo at my side.
