summary: you're psyched once your agent tells you that you booked a part on your favorite show— Outer Banks. But after really getting to know your cast-mates, everything changes.
You're sitting on the couch in your studio apartment, pondering over which streaming service you'll be spending the rest of your night on, when your phone begins to ring. You lift it off of the coffee table as you grasp it in your hands. A phone call from your agent. You've only been pursuing acting for a year now, but have had no luck.
Please, please don't let this be her dropping me as a client.
After a moment of brief hesitation, you tap the green button and lift your phone to your ear.
"Y/n, are you sitting down? I have news"
You sit up all the way, switching from your previous slouched position as you become more aware of the enthusiasm in her voice.
"Yes, Stacy. I'm sitting down, what is it? Better be good, I was just about to watch my brain-rot reality tv"
"They want you." Your jaw drops at hearing her words, knowing that you finally booked something. It didn't matter if it was even just a small commercial, it was something.
An overwhelming sense of contentment took over your whole body as you spoke softly into the phone, holding back tears of joy.
"Wait...who?" You ask, still not knowing exactly what you've booked.
"Outer Banks. One catch though— you have to get on a flight to Charleston...tonight"
You don't even need to take time to contemplate, knowing that this job could quite literally change the course of the whole rest of your life.
TIME JUMP
The plane ride to Charleston was smooth, and you got some much needed sleep. After waking up in your luxurious hotel room the next morning, you found an itinerary from the official Netflix email waiting for you in your inbox. You only needed to do three things today, but it didn't really give you any time for exploring on your own.
Official full day itinerary for y/n:
8:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m.-Chemistry read w/ Drew Starkey
10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.-
Episode 1 table read w/ full cast
8:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.-
Cast partyWait— chemistry read? With Drew Starkey? Like the Drew Starkey...who plays Rafe? This can't be right.
You get yourself ready and looking presentable the best that you can by yourself— seeing as you're not working with the hair and makeup team just yet, and head down to the conference room of the hotel for your chemistry read. As you walk into the conference room, you notice mostly blank space until you get a glimpse of a tall figure in the corner of the room. That buzzcut. You're a huge Outer Banks fan and could recognize that hair and physique anywhere. Drew Starkey.
Soon after you step into the conference room, the show producer comes in.
"Ah, y/n. It's so nice to finally meet you. We loved your audition tape. Now...we know that you initially auditioned for the role of a girl living on the cut with only a couple lines, but after reviewing your tape, we wanted to offer you something better. We think you'd fit into the show better as a Kook with Pogue-like tendencies. And we wanted to bring in a new love interest for Rafe this season, so we can kill two birds with one stone. Which is why I needed you to come to this chemistry read today." Jonas explains.
Holy shit. Playing Drew's on-screen love interest was certainly not on my bingo card this year. But then again, neither was getting casted on my favorite show.
As you're about to take your seat, Drew walks over from the other side of the room and approaches you.
"Hey. Drew. Nice to meet you. Name's y/n, right?" Drew says to you as he holds out his hand for you to shake. You have tell yourself to keep your inner fangirl at bay as you take his hand and respond with a friendly shake.
"Y-yeah. Y/n. That's me" you say nervously.
"Well I hope your character brings a much needed softer side to Rafe" he chuckles.
"Alright, now that introductions have been made...shall we start?" Jonas chimes in.
TIME JUMP
Fresh from both the chemistry and table reads, you're feeling on top of the world about this amazing opportunity. The table read didn't leave much room for introductions with the rest of the cast, but you had the rest of the night at the cast party to make that up. Free food and open bar were the only words you needed to hear to be convinced to go.
You're in your hotel room, putting the last finishing touches of silver jewelry on as you observe yourself in the mirror. The cast party dress code was formal, so you're clad in a tight black, silk maxi-dress that has a slit up the right side. Your stomach continues to turn as your nerves get the best of you.
It's fine. Everything will be fine. One breath in, one breath out.
Nodding your head at yourself in the mirror, you turn the handle on the hotel door, ready to spend time with your cast-mates. As you open the door, your line of sight is immediately hit with the same figure from earlier in the day.
"Oh. Uh...hey, Drew" you say sheepishly.
"Oh shit, I didn't know they put us in rooms right across from each other. But hey, now we can go down to the party together" he chuckles.
"Yeah...yeah we can" you respond with a slight hesitation.
You both walk side by side down the hall until you reach the elevator, stepping into it.
"Sorry if this is out of pocket, but...you uh...you look really good in that dress" his whiskey soaked drawl is overrun by confidence as you can smell the alcohol on his breath. He must've pre-gamed in his room.
"Thank you. You...definitely look good too." The red hue of your face is comparable to that of a tomato as you turn your head away from Drew, knowing that you don't have the self control to deal with him right now.
"Hey...look at me" Drew strides closer to you, backing you into the corner of the elevator.
You let out an exasperated sigh, ready to turn your gaze to him when the elevator doors open.
Since I had a book of Rafe imagines, I only thought it was right to make one for Drew. This *specific* imagine scenario is DEFINITELY gonna have more parts.
