The next day, Emily woke up, and realized she fell asleep doing paperwork... again.
"I really need to find general manager." Emily said, "Not that Alastor doesn't do a good job at keeping most things running... but he is NOT a paperwork guy."
Emily stood up from her desk and stretched, popping some of her joints in the process as she looked at her wall clock.
"7:21, just enough time for a shower and some new clothes before breakfast." Emily said.
She headed to her room, taking the elevator to the top floor. It was Charlie's and Vaggie's old penthouse suite, which was now her's. One of the perks of being the boss.
"That's one hell of a view." Emily said, always loving the view of Hell.
Pentagram City wasn't the prettiest place to look at, outside of the civilized Cannibal District, but it was home.
And she loved it. Far more than that fake city she used to live in.
'Five years, and I have never looked back.' Emily thought, not even bothering to look up to the heavenly "planet" in the sky.
This was home, not there.
After a quick shower and new clothes, Emily took the elevator back down to the dining room for breakfast.
As Emily stepped off, Razzle flew up to her and held up a cup of coffee for her.
"Thank you, my good goat." Emily said as she drank her coffee. "Aaah."
Addiction number 4 for Emily, besides junk food, cigarettes, and alcohol was caffeine.
Which made sense, as she often had to stay up late at night doing work.
"So, what's for breakfast today?" Emily asked.
Razzle hissed as he flew off to grab Emily a menu while the elevator dinged, signaling a new person arriving in the lobby.
'Maybe it's Angel, haven't seen him much since Uncle Ozzie moved in and took control over Valentino's studio.' Emily thought.
That was quite the shock for all the rings of hell, but after he explained what Valentino was doing, every demon was more than willing to accept it. Especially since Asmodeus treated everyone a thousand times better than Valentino ever did.
Angel would always come back with a big smile on his face.
The doors opened to reveal Velvette, who was dresses in a long nightshirt and her hair being a mess. Well, not more of a mess than it was yesterday, but still.
'At least she took a shower last night.' Emily thought as Velvette smelled a lot cleaner too.
How she did with no hands, Emily does not want to know, as it might cause problems.
"Good morning, Velvette. Hope you slept well." Emily said with a smile.
"Mmm." Velvette let out, blowing some hair out of her eyes. "I did until one of those goat things gave me an unwanted wake up call."
"Yeah, they tend to do that." Emily said with a shrug.
Velvette glanced at Emily's cup of coffee, licking her lips.
"Got any more of that?" Velvette asked.
"Plenty." Emily said, shaking the mug again. "You want it with a bendy straw or in a sippy cup strapped to your face?"
Emily chuckled at her own joke as Velvette gave her a bland look.
"You are not funny." Velvette said.
