You had just finished getting your 2-year-old, Chloe, ready for bed when you heard her little voice say "Mummy, where's bun bun?" worry evident in her voice. you stop to take a glance around the room, hoping the tou rabbit would be in sight. "hmm I don't know, why don't we have a look?" you say, walking over to her bed. hoping it had just fallen off her bed. you look under the bed, on both sides of the bed. in her wardrobe, under her blankets and pillow, in her huge toy pile. you had searched her whole room and the rabbit nicknamed bun bun was not in the room. "I'm sure he's here somewhere," you say to Chloe, who now has tears welling in her eyes. you grab her hand and walk to the bathroom to see if somehow the toy has made its way in there. it was not, tears now streaming down the toddler's face, you take her to you and Landos shared room. you search the whole room, anywhere it could be you had checked. "looks like he must be downstairs!" you say, hopeful you'll find the rabbit would be somewhere downstairs. you make your way downstairs, searching each room from top to bottom. it seemed you had no luck, that rabbit was not in the house. you mentally curse at yourself as you hear your daughter begin to sob. "oh Chloe it's okay! he'll be here somewhere. Once daddy's home we can get him to check to make sure we've just missed it!" you say, trying to console her. this was the last thing you needed, you had, had a long day. you had the worst cramps all day while dealing with an active toddler while trying to work from home. the headache that had been brewing since you woke up had been progressively getting worse all day, reaching its worst with Chloe screaming in your ear. "shh Chloe it's okay" you say, bouncing her. just then you heard the front door open, and a wave of relief came over you knowing Lando would be able to help now. "hey hey what's all the fuss about?" you hear him say, as he walks into the kitchen. "bun bun" chloe spits out between sobs. a puzzled look takes over your fiancés face, "we can't find bun bun" It was obvious this was the last thing Lando wanted to deal with, "where did you have him last? Do you know?" he asks as he takes her from you "I don't know, we haven't been anywhere today but he's not in the house." you say, resting your head on his shoulder. "I'm sure we'll find him" his free arm makes its way around your waist, pulling you in for a side hug. "do you wanna go check the car? maybe he somehow got in there" he asks, pulling out his keys. "oh my god yes! I'll be back in a minute" you say, grabbing the keys and practically sprinting to the cars. you checked the family car first, as that's the only car Chloe has properly been in. You probably looked like a maniac on all 4s in the back seat of the car. but you needed to find that rabbit or else your daughter wouldn't get any sleep, meaning you and Lando wouldn't get sleep. When it wasn't in the back seats you felt like you could cry. you climbed over into the front seat to see if it had somehow made its way in there without you realising, only to be met with disappointment. you checked the boot, just to be met with even more disappointment than before. you knew the chance of the toy being in Lando's car was slim, Chloe had never properly been in that car. she was too small. you unlocked Lando's car opening the passenger door, just to see the beloved rabbit on the floor. you had never been happier to see a stuffed animal, you knew Chloe would be beyond happy her bun bun was found. you grabbed the toy, and quickly made your way inside. "Chloe it's okay, we'll find him. he's probably just gone on a little adventure." you hear Lando say softly to her. "like when you go on adventures for work?" Chloe says, a bit more calm now. "yeah like when I go on adventures for work! he'll be back before you know it" Walking into the living room the sight you saw made your heart melt. Lando was lying on the couch, Chloe lying on top of him. her little arms wrapped around his torso while he lay on her back and one stroked her hair. you wanted the world to stop so you could admire them forever. you knew you couldn't, as your child needed her stuffy. "hey Chloe, guess who I found?" you say, showing the toy. "BUN BUN!" she shouted, pouncing off of Lando and running for the stuffed animal. "thank you mummy!" she said grabbing it out your hand. "it's alright, go upstairs and daddy or I will be up in a minute to put you to bed" you say, as you walk into the living room. you see her run upstairs a smile wide across her face. "so where was it?" Lando asks, hugging you from behind, leaning his head on your shoulder. "passenger side of your car" you say, slightly turning your head to face him. A puzzled look takes over his face as he tries to figure out how it got there. "it'll forever be a mystery" he says kissing your cheek before going upstairs to say goodnight to your daughter. you couldn't have asked for a better partner.
