Jisoo stared at her reflection in the mirror, adjusting the glasses on her nose. She usually only wore them at home, preferring her contacts for school. But today, she had run out of contacts and had no choice but to wear her glasses. She sighed, grabbed her backpack, and headed out the door.
As she walked into school, she immediately felt a shift in the atmosphere. Students glanced at her, their eyes lingering longer than usual. She spotted her friend Lisa near the lockers and made her way over.
“Hey, Lisa,” Jisoo said, pushing her glasses up her nose. “I ran out of contacts. I’ll have to go to the store later to get some more.”
Lisa grinned, giving Jisoo a once-over. “You’ve become eye candy today, Jisoo. Have you noticed how many girls are checking you out?”
Jisoo blinked in surprise, looking around. Sure enough, she caught several girls staring at her with hearts in their eyes. She felt a blush creeping up her cheeks.
“Really? I hadn’t noticed,” Jisoo mumbled, feeling a bit self-conscious.
“All day, Jisoo. They’re practically swooning,” Lisa teased.
Throughout the day, Jisoo found herself the center of attention. Girls were trying to flirt with her, slipping her their numbers, and generally making her day miserable. By lunchtime, she was exhausted and just wanted to sit alone and eat in peace. She sat at her usual table, but it wasn’t long before she was surrounded by girls dying for her attention.
Jisoo sighed to herself, feeling trapped. Suddenly, her eyes lit up as she saw Chaeyoung approaching. The blonde had a surprised expression on her face, and Jisoo felt a surge of relief.
Chaeyoung signed, “What’s happening?”
Jisoo shook her head and quickly rushed away from the table to her girlfriend. She grabbed Chaeyoung’s arm and dragged her away from the crowd of admiring girls.
“What was that about?” Chaeyoung asked, glancing back at the girls who were still swooning over Jisoo.
Jisoo quickly signed, “I didn’t mean for that to happen. I ran out of contacts and had to wear my glasses today.”
Chaeyoung’s expression was blank for a moment before she giggled, reaching up to push Jisoo’s glasses up a little. “It’s alright, Jisoo. I know you didn’t mean to get their attention.”
Jisoo smiled, feeling her tension melt away. “Thank you for understanding. I didn’t think it would cause such a stir.”
Chaeyoung leaned in and kissed Jisoo’s cheek. “You look cute with glasses, Jisoo. But don’t worry, I know you’re all mine.”
"Maybe I'll wear them just for you."
"Maybe, but you're making it hard to resist." Chaeyoung tapped Jisoo's cheek before walking off.
"Such a tease." Jisoo rolled her eyes.
She then quickly catched up with her girlfriend and held her hand. Jisoo blushed, feeling grateful for Chaeyoung’s reassurance. They spent the rest of lunch together, enjoying each other’s company and ignoring the stares from the other students. By the end of the day, Jisoo felt much better, knowing that no matter what, she had Chaeyoung by her side.
