I'm sorry for the late post I've been sick with covid (I completely forgot it existed then got slapped in the face with it) 😔

Enjoy!

song: 'Right Side of My Neck' by Faye Webster

——————————————————————————

Walking down the dimly lid corridor, I push open the familiar dark burgundy door leading to our private room held inside Caffè dei fiori as we all make our way in, our footsteps echoing off the wooden floors.

I take a seat at the wooden table in the centre on the room, and pick up the menu as I look at all of the options.

Everyone else follows suit and sits down, chatting amongst each other as I give Dulcie a small smile.

"Would you like to sit? We'd be happy to have you join us?" I offer, but she shakes her head. "Oh, thank you for the offer, but it's probably best I keep working. I wouldn't want to get fired." She laughs.

I nod as I look around at my family, each of them looking relaxed and calm. It still surprises me that these people hurt others for a living, and yet they are all some of the sweetest people I know.

Besides Enzo, he's just another pain in my ass.

"Well, just shout if you need anything, okay?"

I nod as she turns, closing the door behind her before I spin around to face Marco, whose eyes were glued to the closed door.

"So," I grin, hearing a low groan as he turns to me, "How are you and Dulcie going?"

"I'm not sure what you mean." He diverts his attention to the menu in his hands, but the mention of her name brought a little pink to his face.

"Uh, huh, sure. Seriously, though, have you asked for her number yet?" He looks up again, his eyes searching my face for any sign of judgment before Azalea interrupts.

"Ooh, who's Dulcie?" She smirks as I nod to Marco. "The waitress. Marco fancies her."

"The pretty one? I get what you mean, Marco. She's a stunner." Marco frowns as we laugh.

"What's this about Marco liking someone?" Matteo joins in, and soon enough our conversation had become the centre of attention for everyone else.

Marco groans as he buries his head in his hands, Enzo clapping him on the back. "Cheer up, Marc. Besides, if you don't take her I will."

Marco snaps his head up as he scowls at Enzo, who raises his hands into the air in surrender. "Alright, sorry." He chuckles.

"I'm going to the bathroom." Marco excuses himself as he stands up and walks away, either to go to the bathroom like he said or talk to Dulcie.

"He's down bad." Azalea laughs as I chuckle. "Oh, he most certainly is. Who'd have thought Marco would have a crush."

"Never in a million years would I have." Luca chimes in, my attention now moving onto him.

"What about you, Lulu? Any girls catching your attention lately?" He shakes his head.

"No?" I smirk as I lean forward, my chin in my hand as I look across the table to where he had sat up straight. "Really? So you're not interested in anyone from school or... maybe Valhalla?"

His face remained impassive, but I could tell he was trying too hard to seem casual. "Nope, no one," he said, eyes searching to see if I was bluffing or not.

"Not even Sophie?"

He shakes his head. "I don't know who you're talking about."

"Liar," I teased, grinning as I watched the tips of his ears turn red. "You're so obvious. I saw the way you looked at her."
