Third person p.o.v.

Majestic vermillion wings obscured the blinding light trespassing the glass windows.

"Let's get going."  The h/c girl nodded, standing up from the couch as the tall dirty blonde ran off with her suitcase, prompting the teenager to chase after him.

"Oi! Come back here!" she called out, her voice echoing down the marble corridor. The man, already a blur of motion, didn't slow down. Pro heroes in the vicinity watched in mild bemusement, some shaking their heads while the receptionist frantically tried to get his attention.

"They don't call me the hero too fast for my own good for nothing!" he shouted over his shoulder, his grin wide with excitement. He hovered slightly off the ground, zipping past startled onlookers. He skidded to a halt at the elevator, a triumphant look on his face. But as the doors slid open with a cheerful 'ding,' he found himself face-to-face with a soaking surprise.

A jet of water sprayed from a hidden nozzle, drenching his hair and making him sputter in shock. Behind him stood a panting Y/N, her hair a wild mess and her hand outstretched, a determined look in her eyes.

"You thought you could outrun me, huh?" She said breathlessly, managing a triumphant smile despite her disheveled appearance, she confidently stepped into the elevator and snatched her suitcase from the hero's grasp.

"Pssht!" He exclaimed, following her into the elevator and clicking the button for the top floor. He crossed his arms and sulked, though his eyes still twinkled with amusement. "I could never!"  After all, she was much faster than him with the help of her quirk.

The man returned her smile but then pointed to his drenched hair and the growing puddle around his feet. Y/N nodded understandingly and extended her palm once more. With a soft hum of concentration, she raised her hand, and the temperature in the elevator subtly increased. The water evaporated almost instantly, leaving the floor and the hero's hair dry.

"Much better," The hero said, running a hand through his now-dry hair with a satisfied grin. "Thanks."

Y/N shrugged, a playful glint in her eye. "Consider it  payment for the last time you took me out for brunch."

As they reached the top floor, the elevator doors slid open to reveal a sleek, modern office space. The room was decorated with minimalist elegance, with a large desk at the center, and a wall of windows offering a panoramic view of the city below. Behind the desk, a woman with striking features and an authoritative presence sat, her eyes sharp and assessing.

"Welcome," Mera-san said, his voice carrying a note of command. "We've been expecting you."  To his right stood her sensei.

Y/N and the hero exchanged a glance before stepping forward.

"Good morning, Mera-san,"  She bowed and then shifted slightly.  "Sensei."

"Good morning, L/N."  Her sensei responded.

"As we discussed over the call, there's a small assessment you'll need to take," Sensei said, his voice stern. "If you don't pass this test, we'll have to pull you out of U.A. It's a simple exercise, something all U.A. students can do. You'd only embarrass yourself if you stepped foot there without the necessary skills."

Harsh as ever, Hawks rolled his eyes and bent down, draping an arm casually over Y/N's shoulders. "You'll be fine, N/N!" He reassured her with a grin as a door to their left opened. "We'll be up here watching."

Y/N nodded. Mera-san gestured down the hallway. "The changing rooms are through that door, the first room on the right."

With a quick wave to the three adults—her sensei standing firm, Mera-san now asleep at the desk, and Hawks holding her f/v/c suitcase—Y/N made her way down the hall. Her f/v/c handbag was slung over her shoulder, and as she reached the first door on the right, she noticed it was shut. She groaned, recalling that it had been closed since she entered the hallway. With a sigh, she fished her phone out of her bag.
