I stared in shock, as my brother leaped toward me, his hand positioned to cast magic on me that would surely take my life. My eyes widened more and more, and I prepared for the deadly blow, but instead, it never came. I looked up, and noticed Kaliska.
"Kaliska!" I screamed, and noticed her body had been flung up into the air. However, something wasn't right. The girl's body started glowing an intense green, the same shade as Colt's. I covered my eyes with my hand from the powerful light, and tried to squint through it so I could get a glimpse of the girl.
"Colt, you need to stop." Kaliska spoke, her voice sounding almost soothing. The girl took weak steps toward Colt, and the guy glared at her as the magic took over him. Kaliska was already well aware of what was happening, and she pressed her lips against his, letting all of the magic drain from him. The blonde haired girl's body shook and trembled, as she took in the magic, and in minutes, the girl fell to the ground, her body having a calming glow to it.
Colt was clutching his head in horror, and staring at the girl who laid at his feet.
"Kaliska?" He breathed, as he touched her shoulder. She didn't budge. I jogged over to the two, and looked at my brother, who had stopped glowing.
"What have I done?" His voice slowly grew louder, and tears streamed down his face. I hugged my brother, and sighed,
"She saved us, Colt."
"But I don't get it, why can't she control the magic?!" Colt's voice rose even more,
"Colt, you and father are the only ones who can use that crystal. Everyone else that has tried, has died." The guy froze, and pushed me away. He fell to the ground beside Kaliska, and cupped her cold face in his hand,
"No, Kaliska..." The guy pressed his head against hers, and sobbed. I walked over to my brother, and was about to place a comforting hand on his shoulder, when I heard a voice,
"I can help." Someone said, and the two of us glanced behind us to see a girl with powder blue hair and golden eyes. I felt suspicious at first, but I ignored the feeling, knowing this was our only hope. Colt and I picked up the girl's lifeless body, and we followed the girl deep into the forest.
She lead us toward an old wood cabin, and in through the front door. We placed Kaliska onto a bed, and the girl brought over a bottle of glowing blue liquid.
"What is that?" Colt asked, his hands shaking with fear,
"It should save her life." she poured the liquid into Kaliska's mouth, and we watched with hope as the girl's brown eyes flickered open.
"You're alive!" We both shrieked, and wrapped the girl up in a hug.
"Ouch." She chuckled, and we let go of her,
"How can we repay you?" I asked the blue haired girl,
"Just take care of that wound in her gut. Looks pretty nasty." She smiled, and left the cabin. I watched her go, and then turned back to see Kaliska getting out of bed.
"We need to get this wound taken care of first." Colt warned, and pushed the girl back onto the bed,
"Oh fine." She rolled her eyes, as Colt took of her corset, and examined the wound in her gut. Kaliska winced, as the guy grabbed a cloth and wiped water onto it. The blonde haired girl clutched onto his shoulder with a death grip, as he wrapped a bandage around her stomach.
"There we go." He smiled, and kissed the girl on the forehead,
"Thank you." She whispered, and I laughed,
"Why don't I leave you two alone." I gave my brother a mischievous grin. He sighed, and I left the cabin, and heard footsteps behind me. I looked around, and noticed Kaliska leap onto my horse,
"Hey!" Colt screeched from behind me, and ran after the horse. I grabbed his arm,
"You can't blame her, since her home is in danger." I explained, and he sighed,
"Yeah, we're going after her though."
"Then let's go." I grinned, and the two of us bolted through the forest. We eventually arrived in the village, and we spotted Kaliska helping Catori villagers out of the burning village. Two girls with lilac hair and hazel brown hair followed after the girl, as she escorted people out.
"Where are you going to send them?" I caught up to Kaliska,
"The other Catori village, and some of them will probably stay in the human village. I don't know where I'm going to stay though." She sighed,
"You can stay with me." Colt offered, and the girl smiled at him.
"Kaliska!" Her father ran toward us and pulled his daughter in for a tight hug, "I'm so glad you're alive." He breathed.
"I know dad, I'm glad you're okay too." She smiled, "did everyone get out okay?"
"I escorted most of the town out, and of course, it seems you helped a lot of Catori out too. Now, I guess we just have to find shelter in another town for the time being." Kaliska nodded, and explained she would be staying with Colt.
"Be safe, honey." The King kissed his daughter on the head, and then left on his horse, with a large group of Catori.
"Let's go home." Colt grabbed Kaliska's hand in his, and she grinned at him,
"Defiantly." The two noticed I was heading in the direction of the other Catori village and they looked at me with concern,
"Where are you going?" They both asked,
"To the Catori village. I want to make sure Harmony is okay."
"You mean, your new girlfriend?" Colt grinned,
"What?" I blushed,
"You've been spying on me, so I spied on you. I saw you and Harmony kiss." He winked, and I grinned,
"Fine brother, she's my girlfriend."

I arrived at the Catori village, and was relieved to find it was as normal as usual. Except for the fact that a lot more Catori had moved in. I knocked on the King and Queen's door, and Harmony answered the door,
"Hey." She smiled at me, her pretty blue eyes locking with mine,
"Hi. Where's your parents?" I asked, surprised they hadn't answered the door, or shown up,
"Asleep." Harmony grinned, and grabbed my hand. "Come on." She pulled me along,
"Where are we going?" I asked, while trying to keep myself from grinning with excitement.
"Here." Harmony showed me to a large hill, with a single tree. We walked up to it, and the girl sat me down. I looked up at the beautiful starry sky, and found myself snaking my arm around Harmony's shoulder.
"Hey, will you be my girlfriend?" I asked, and she looked at me, her eyes sparkling,
"You bet." She smiled, and kissed me on the lips. I grinned and playfully pushed her, rolling the girl underneath me.
"Idiot." She teased, and I kissed her again. We stopped, and I rolled off her, and onto my back, staring up at the sky. Harmony cuddled into my side, and I pulled her close, as the two of us stared up at the sky.
