Cain stopped in front of a huge mansion, slightly bigger than mine. Rowan, Sebastien, and Aiden got out first, going inside. I was sure that Penelope would have loved to be here but unfortunately, she could not. I did not want to be here alone with them. I felt uncomfortable but it was too late to decline their offer. Plus, I thought this would be a great opportunity to work on our project. Hopefully, his friend would not disturb us.
"Is this your house?" I asked as we stepped out of the car, my eyes wandering around the house.
He shook his head, "It's our house."
I raised a brow at this. "You bought a house with your friends?"
"Yeah." He grinned. "We come here to hangout amongst other things."
I nodded, following him inside where the guys were on the couch, the TV on.
Aiden saw me and smiled, patting the spot on the couch next to him. "Come on. We're about to watch some movie.""Conjuring." Rowan added, scrolling through Netflix.
"The second one." Sebastien sighed. "Again."
My eyes lit up at their I'm movie suggestions. I loved the conjuring. I would watch it a million times if I could. I was about to join Aiden on the couch when Cain stopped me, dragging me to a separate couch facing the TV.
"Sit," he said after taking a seat himself. He patted the spot next to him, waiting.
I let out a sigh, not missing the smile that appeared on Aiden's lips at this as I took my seat next to Cain.
"Fan of conjuring, are you?" Cain whispered, his warm breath on my ear.
I shivered, nodding, my eyes fixed on the screen. I refused to look at him. I was well aware of how close he was sitting to me. Our thighs were almost touching. "Don't forget you have to drop me back at school minutes before school ends."
"Remind me later." He murmured. "Don't we have a project to do?"
"Yes," I looked at him, "We do."
"Shall we get started on it?"
"Right now?"
"Yes." He nodded. "We can watch it again another day."
He was not wrong. The movie would not be going anywhere. The deadline of the project, however. I gave him a nod, standing up after him.
The guys gave us weird looks. "Where are you guys going?" Rowan raised a brow, a smirk slowly taking over his features. "Taking the party to the bedroom I see."Cain grabbed a pillow on the couch and threw it in his face, muttering how he wondered sometimes why he even befriended him in the first place. He asked me to follow him upstairs, which I did. The house getting bigger by the second. I knew if I was ever left alone in here without a guide, I'd easily lose my way.
We stopped in front of what I assumed was his bedroom. He opened the door, letting me enter first. My eyes immediately went to the framed arts on the wall. "Did you make these?"
He nodded, closing the door behind us. He took off his jacket, revealing a black shirt and the familiar chain around his neck. He had a tattoo on his arms. The tattoo of a black rose. When he caught me looking- admiring his tattoo, he raised a brow.
"It's beautiful." I admitted, wanting nothing more than to touch the rose tattoo. It was so simple, yet alluring somehow.
"Thanks," he smiled, gesturing to the bed. "Make yourself comfortable."
"On your bed?" I mentally facepalmed myself for asking.
"Yes," he raised a brow. "What is the project about again?"
I shrugged. "It could be anything related to Chemistry."
"How about a volcanic eruptions? Or a crystal growing?"
I paused. His idea was not so bad. It would be easy to make. Especially the crystal growing one. "Crystal growing."
He smiled, nodding. "Let's get to work then. We will need a few things."
"Yes, we will." I took out the chemistry book, setting it on his bed before flipping to the pages on growing crystal experiments. When we found it, we read the ingredients required.
"We'll need Borax, water, pipe cleaners, glass jar, string, pencil." He stated, his eyes fixed on the page. "I'll go get the things we need. Wait here."
I nodded, and he left the room, closing the door behind him. That gave me time to take a good look around his room. As tempting as it was to open his closet, I did not. Instead, I just sat on the bed, scrolling through my instagram and waited patiently for his return. I did not forget to look at the time and let out a sigh of relief when I realized we had around two more hours before school ended. That left us with one hour and 30 minutes to at least complete half of the project. Cain had to drop me back at school thirty minutes before it ended as Peter, my driver, usually arrived at school about ten minutes early, and waited for me.
The door opened, revealing Cain with a bowl of water and a bag full of things which I could only assume were the things we'd need for said project.
He placed the things on the table where his laptop sat, and gestured me to come.We were already half way done with the project before I checked my phone, knowing it was time for me to go back to school as it was going to end in around thirty minutes.
"We can continue this tomorrow," I stated, earning a grin from him.
"You want to come back here tomorrow?"
I shrugged. "Yes, to finish the project. Now, drop me back to school before my driver arrives."
