Chapter 16

It's been almost two months since Tanjirou and co have been brought to the Butterfly Estate for a medical treatment and recovery.

By now, the three of them are pretty much healed up, it is to the point where they are allowed to wear their uniforms and haori instead of patient clothes. But strangely enough, they haven't received any missions yet, so they're being stuck in Kochou's mansion since they don't have anywhere to go to yet.

But, of course they're not just wasting their time there. In exchange for letting them stay there, Kanae proposed to the three of them to be a sparring partner to Kochou's three Tsugukos. She also asked Tanjirou to help the three to master the Total Concentration Breathing Constant.

Due to their limited time as a Hashira, Shinobu and Kanae didn't have time to help them master it.

At first, Tanjirou didn't want to intrude since, obviously, the only people residing here are females, so he thought that maybe the others will be uncomfortable. Another reason is because he hesitated to teach the three since that just means he'll be spending his time with them most of the time.

But before he could say anything back to Kanae, Zenitsu immediately accepted the proposal in Tanjirou's stead. No one knows the reason why he suddenly did that without Tanjirou's consent, but well, he secretly has a crush on Naya.

It's not surprising, since the three girls are really kind and considerate even when they first met. That kind of manners and attitude, they probably get it from Kanae's.

And so with that, it is decided that they'll be staying here for a little while until they receive their new missions. Needless to say, Tanjirou had no say in the matter because of Zenitsu's sudden intrusion in the conversation, and Kanae's quick acceptance to the yellow head's answer.

Nevertheless, Tanjirou had no complaints about it, and just mentally accepted this predicament.

And right now, Tanjirou was making his way to look for Kanae, as he remembered that he had something he wanted an answer to, and the only people who can entertain him in this matter are knowledgeable and experienced people.

According to Aoi, she is supposed to be in the main building, so he decided to go there. Once he reached the place that the Kochou sisters along with Kanao stayed at, Tanjirou decided to call Kanae's name out loud.

Since the door is usually opened, anyone in front of the entrance can see the front hallway of the house.

After waiting for a few seconds, Tanjirou heard footsteps rushing inside the structure, and suddenly, Kanae's head peeked in one of the place's rooms, which can be viewed even in his current foothold right now due to the straight hallway.

At the sight of the redhead boy, Kanae's eyes sparkled. "Oh, Tanjirou! It's rare for you to look for me. Do you need something?"

The young Kamado flinched in return, feeling guilty about her words since it appears that Tanjirou only came to her whenever he needed something. Kanae literally didn't mean anything like that, but Tanjirou's mind is just built differently.

It's also probably because of his kind nature that he is quick to think negatively about something as small as this. Simply put, he gets paranoid whenever he misunderstood something, which is extremely unnecessary.

After a short silence, Tanjirou spoke, "...Yes. I would like to talk about a certain topic."

"Oh, I see. Is it something confidential? I'm with Shinobu right now, you see..."

Kanae, still peeking, said those and Shinobu suddenly came out of the room.

"If it's important, I can leave you two alone."
