"Chalna Bhi Hai Badalna Bhi Hai
Tujhme Hi To Dhalna Bhi Hai
Dil Thoda Jazbaati Hai
Bhar Jata Hai Baaton Se"
"Absolutely not." I declare as I walk into the hall. I look around and my eyes connect with my mom who is looking at me like she predicted me saying this.
OfCourse, she did. I would not in any case let my sister go away from me again. And what has it been? Just a week since she came back. Hell No. She is not marrying this soon. I am not against marriage; I won't say I don't want her to get married because I do. I want her to have her own family, marry a guy she loves and have a happy and beautiful life ahead.
But right now, we have just got her back. No way in hell I'll let her go this soon. Even if I have to fight every single person in my family, I will. Until and unless she is ready to get married no one will force her, I will make sure of that.
"We are not discussing Ashi's marriage. Am I clear?" I say firmly looking at each and every person in the room.
"Rudra, atleast listen to what Jahanvi bhabhi is saying." Mom says calmly.
"No maa, we are not discussing her marriage until and unless she tells me she is ready." I keep my tone authoritative. I can't just let them talk about her marriage without her knowing, like she is a thing we can trade. I know we come from royalty and arrange marriages are common practice in business world to strengthen the connections. But here we are talking about MY SISTER, and I'll die before I let anyone force her to do something.
"So, how about we ask Ashi di only?" Rehan, Kabir's younger brother speaks for the first time diverting his eyes from his phone.
"Rudra, call Ashi and tell her to come home. Only if she is okay, then we will further discuss this topic." Dad instructs me and I pick my phone up to call Ashi. She picks up my call in second ring.
"Jii bhai." A sweet and respectful voice of Ashi comes through. I always feel so grateful that she is not some mannerless brat rather she is respectful and polite towards everyone.
(Yes, brother.)
"Princess, can you come home right now?" I ask without telling her much so that I don't stress her much. I know she had an interview today so she might be busy and to be honest I am praying that she says she is busy, so we can avoid this discussion.
"Bhai, kuch hua hai kya? Itni jaldi ghar kyun? Sab thik hai?" She asks with a little panic in her voice which can easily detacted.
(Bro, did something happen? Why home so early? Everything alright?)
"Sab thik hai bacha, Kabir sath hai tumhare? Interview tha na tumhara?" I ask to ease her worries.
(Everything is fine, is Kabir with you? You had your interview, right?)
