"Hey, what a lovely surprise...come in." I walked in his beautiful and huge home. I place of comfort that needs a family not a young man living alone in a mansion. He offered me juice then we sat in his study room.
"Did you receive the flowers?"
"I did..." I smiled and took a sip of my juice.
"Do you love them? If you don't I can get you something else."
"I loved everything Chris."
"So what brings you here? I hope that's not a rude question." Of course the question was rude! How could someone ask a question like that one to someone you made out with.... surely was one of the red flags I decided to ignore.
"I want us to talk about last night." He stood up and walked to his far left where he had a glass of whiskey.
"What about last night Chloe? I think last night was just two adults having fun...no strings attached." At that moment I felt like the dumbest person ever...what was I even doing there?
"Why did you send me flowers and the necklace?"
"I always do it... Chloe are you okay? "
"I should probably get going... I'm sorry I shouldn't be here." He came towards me and touched my chin.
"I'm not a monster you think I am Chloe." He smiled at me " I was hoping that we would have dinner sometime, that's only if it will be comfortable with you."
"You are very funny." I said that in an ironic manner.
"Chloe, I'm serious right now. I want to properly thank you for helping me out. Friendship won't hurt anyone, maybe as time goes on, we'll be something better...a relationship maybe."
"Chris..." I stood up. "I should leave. I didn't come for this here."
"I don't understand, what did you come for Chloe?let me think...you thought I'd be asking you out by now right? I'm not in a position to be in a serious relationship Chloe, I'm busy... mostly with business, you won't cope."
"And who says I won't cope?"
"You on the other hand are a doctor, always busy with patients when I'm free you'll be busy... I suggest that you and I can have fun...not something serious."
"Does it suit me?"
"I wouldn't be suggesting it if it didn't."
"You're an ass!" I left the place with a poor broken hurt...I made myself I guess. Never will I ever run after a man.
